Jameson on the rocks (cube)

Wife and I will share a few beers.  Tomorrow we restock the beer fridge with a trip to Maine.

Came home and crushed a couple glasses of a low(ish) ABV carbonated mead I made with a bit of chardonnay juice. Now sipping on a glass of homebrewed pale ale.

In.  In?  "Are you in?", she said...

Anyway...  Just the usual assortment of quality craft beers tonight.  Are any of you beer drinkers?  Anyone into 'craft' beer?  It's been a veritable explosion of quality over the past few years.  I've been a legal drinker for exactly half of my life now (turned 42 on Friday), and I remember the dearth of good beer when I first hit the bars in the Twin Cities.  Now, there are more taprooms here than I can keep track of.  An embarrassment of riches, I suppose.  Prost!

So my buddy invented a new drink at my daughters wedding announcement party last night.

1/2 glass of ice
3 measures of Berentzen Peach Liquor
1 measure of Monopolowa Vodka
4 measures of Blood Orange San Pellegrino
Stir

He's calling it a "Bloody Navel"   :rollin

For as much shit as I've talked about Louisiana and the south in general regarding beer quality, Crowd Control IPA out of Hattiesburg, Mississippi is a fuckin dandy. Easily in my all time top 10 IPAs and possibly top 5.

Nice, I actually had always thought NJ didn't have much of a craft beer following at all, but I guess with the trends of microbreweries being so popular, there's actually a bunch in NJ that I didn't know about at all.  I went to craft beer and music festival last weekend and it was about half local breweries, some close to home.  I was shocked these all had popped up within the last couple years.  I was drinking lots of stouts that day which were all really good.  One was oatmeal raisin that was soooo delicious, I asked the guy where to get it. "In my basement in Tampa"  :lol

I've got this snapple Orangeade that mixes really well with tequila.  I have so much random booze in my liqueur cabinet that I figured I should find a way to drink at least some of it besides the vodka.  I expect to be in later for the Live/Bush/Our Lady Peace concert on this beautiful day with that drink  :yarr
