Of the new ones, I have skipped the two Japan CD's. Why release each set separately, and not even include ACOS?

But the Berlin one is absolutely amazing.

Yeah, the attention to detail has been a bit sloppy with these releases so far, but I'm still quite happy they're offering them again, and specially the new stuff that's coming out as well.

That's because mike is no longer in charge. I've been cherry picking the newer releases limiting myself to previously unreleased and my favorite Ytsejam releases. No need to have to full sets at this point.

So, I have a complete Ytsejam set (Dream Theater, not the LTE stuff).  Are the items being re-released through Lost Not Forgotten different (musically) in any way?   I've only been buying the stuff that hasn't been released before.  I'm not interested in a "complete" LNF set, just hearing new or different music.

They've been remastered and apparently the Awake demos got remixed too, but other than that, they are the same thing as the originals.

Really like the sound on the FII demos.

I've really liked the Berlin set; it even inspired me to go back and listen to Distance Over Time a couple times (and isn't that partly the reason for live albums?).   The applause in between songs, though, is freaky; I get it, it's a soundboard (right?) but still.  Minor quibble, though, as the band sounds incredible.

Wait, is THAT why I can hardly hear the crowd? It's kind of deflating when I can't hear the audience go flippin' wild when the next song starts up.

I think it's during LIE and the muted/muffled audience is cranked up because LaBrie has the audience sing a part and...it sounds...ghoulish.

But yeah I'm digging the bootleg.

Maybe the grass is greener on the other side because you're not over there fucking it up.

So while listening to the Live In Berlin set, this jumped out at me.

It's about the 4:30 mark. I just listened to it again on my laptop and didn't sound nearly as weird. With headphones it was almost a little jarring since it didnt sound like a proper audience sing along.

That's fucking crazy, lmao, I love it. I've heard him do that in a few other recordings from that tour but that's quite possibly the most insane one!

I really love this version of As I Am. Quite glad to have such an enjoyable and recent live release out of nowhere (for me at least).

As I hear it:

"Tho those who own the stand.... WHY EXTEND MY HEEEEEEEEEEEN???

He did that throughout the whole Summer '19 tour, including the date I attended in Geneva. Pretty sick vocal moment!

TAC

AS I Am is typically a song I skip so I was shocked to hear that part.

I'm having a listen through live in Berlin today actually.  Holy hell James sounds fantastic!!!  Can't believe this was only 3 years ago compared to now.

I haven't dived deep into these bootleg serious, but some of these are better than the official releases.

v_clortho

Just got the Images and Words Demos. And the content is the Live in Berlin cd. What? Anyone else have this issue?

Would've never happened with MP around. :lol

I'm kidding, kinda..

Really enjoyed the Images and Words demos. James sounds amazing of course with some subtle differences here and there.

Happened to me with Live At Budokan, I got two discs 2 and no disc 3. But I'm not sure if it was MP's fault.  ;)

v_clortho

So Amazon is sending me a new cd. Do I keep the misprinted one hoping it'll become a collectors item? What would you all do?

v_clortho

And now my replacement has the same problem... Did anyone get a good copy?

I got the white vinyl from LaserCD, it came with the correct CDs.  InsideOut posted to their facebook that you can reach out for a replacement if you received the wrong CDs

We are aware of a manufacturing error that includes the wrong audio files for the Dream Theater album Lost Not Forgotten Archives: Images and Words Demos (1989-1991). We are working on correcting this issue and want to be sure anyone who has purchased the CD in the United States receives a new copy with the proper album. Please email (dreamtheaterlnfa@gmail.com) with your name, order confirmation and shipping information and a new copy will be sent to you ASAP.

For November' 11th : LOST NOT FORGOTTEN ARCHIVES: OLD BRIDGE, NEW JERSEY (1996)
https://www.insideoutshop.de/Artist/Dream_Theater/20563?Page=1&PageSize=25&Sort=13
https://centurymedia.store/dept/dream-theater

Would it be too much to ask for a track list on the label's website? Anyone have a link to one?

Edit: didn't realize there were two links there. The Century Media link had the track list:

CD 1:
A Change of Seasons, Pt. I (Live in New Jersey, 1996)
A Change of Seasons, Pt. II (Live in New Jersey, 1996)
The Mirror (Live in New Jersey, 1996)
Lie (Live in New Jersey, 1996)
Burning My Soul (Live in New Jersey, 1996)
Another Hand/The Killing Hand (Live in New Jersey, 1996)
Just Let Me Breathe (Live in New Jersey, 1996)
Caught in a Web (Live in New Jersey, 1996)
Peruvian Skies (Live in New Jersey, 1996)
Pull Me Under (Live in New Jersey, 1996)
CD 2:
Lines in the Sand (Live in New Jersey, 1996)
Take Away My Pain (Live in New Jersey, 1996)
A Change of Seasons, Pt. IV (Live in New Jersey, 1996)
Ytse Jam (Live in New Jersey, 1996)
Learning to Live (Live in New Jersey, 1996)
A Change of Season, Pt. VII (Live in New Jersey, 1996)
Metropolis (Live in New Jersey, 1996)
change.

Very similar to the OIALT set list.
Quote from: TAC on December 12, 2024, 05:40:22 PM"No way" is kind of strong, but I do lean with HOF.

Max Kuehnau

with the notable difference and exception that OIAL was heavily shortened and never in the actual concert order (look at Porty's concert database for the setlist and you'll see) and the Old Bridge show actually was an entire show
All my natural instincts are begging me to stop
But somehow I carry on, heading for the top
A physical absurdity, a tremendous mental game
Helping me understand exactly who I am

Cool Chris

Are these songs recorded live in New Jersey, in 1996? I am not sure. Could they not have just put that as a subtitle and not have to include it in every single track?
