Now that the band are back on tour and aren't playing these songs, I'd love to see another release similar to A Dramatic Tour of Events Select Board Mixes/Happy Holidays where they include all the tracks they've performed live the last few tours that haven't seen an official live release from this lineup yet.

Not counting the songs they're currently playing or anything from TA (since I think/hope that'll be a separate release), we have:

Afterlife (2015)
Don't Look Past Me (2017)
A Change of Seasons (2017)
Burning My Soul (2015)
Hell's Kitchen (2017)
Panic Attack (2015)
Constant Motion (2015)
Wither (2015)
The Bigger Picture (2017)
Behind the Veil (2015)

Just make a proper tracklist out of it, and you have a killer 80-minute live set they could fit into one CD and release through the LNFA :metal :metal :metal

Take my money!!

Please no compilations! But them releasing one of the full-length shows from that brief tour they did in 2015? I'd be lined up for that in a heartbeat.
Quote from: BlobVanDam on November 13, 2015, 07:37:14 PMAs a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

I agree. I mean, I'd take a compilation if one were offered, but my preference would be the same as yours.

The fact that Wither has only ever been played twice in the U.S. is damn shame.

Cool Chris

Without analyzing the setlist too much I'd consider buying something like this.
Maybe the grass is greener on the other side because you're not over there fucking it up.

svisser

I just bought my first one. The upcoming majesty Demos.

Missing ACOS, though :'(
hopefully it makes its way to another of these releases

Cool Chris

That looks totally underwhelming. I remember seeing that set list the first time and thought it was unimpressive. Then I wondered who Tracy was.

The're just completing their 2017 Budokan show (sans ACOS). Being someone who collects official live versions of DT songs to make the ultimate live playlist with the best version of wach one, I really aprreciate getting these new additions :tup

TAC

Why couldn't they release the whole damn show at once?

So....  I'll be that guy, why no ACOS?  Is there a reason it's not being released (bearing in mind I did not add up the times to see if it was a CD space issue).

I surely would've liked that, but I guess more releases = more income $.

(not saying this is their reasoning, but it could be :P)

They would need a 3 disc release for the whole show, which they might not want to do for these things. Also, it would've been Disc 1, this release; disc 2, IAW in full; and disc 3, just ACOS. Too much hassle just for a single song on disc 3.

I&W and ACOS should fit on one disc easily.

Not with all the extra sections/solos/improvs they added to IAW for that tour.

I'm going to get this, because I was very happy to be at that tour. But why the hell are they not also putting the A Change of Seasons encore onto this? I'm actually really disappointed. I get it couldn't fit on the I&W disc, but it would've easily fit onto this disc. Now we just don't get it?

I don't tend to like it when bands release an incomplete show, so I'm definitely looking forward to ...And Beyond as a step in the right direction while also being disappointed that ACoS will still be missing. Also excited for the long-overdue release of The Bigger Picture live!

Hopefully someday we get a LNF compilation that cleans up some of the missing pieces, including that ACoS. Maybe those songs from 2015 that gzarruk mentioned plus ACoS 2017. That would be about an hour.

I would also love to see the rest of Once in a Livetime, although I'm not optimistic given that YtseJam never did it, and Another Day from Live at the Marquee. I'd actually love the full Marquee show, but I don't think that's possible given that almost all the vocals were re-recorded.

TheRich13

Would anyone happen to know the complete list of these LNF vinyl releases so far ?
Reason I'm asking , I have some in my possession already and many more on preorder and it's kinda confusing and I want to make sure I haven't missed any .
Thanks so much to anyone that can help me out !!

Rich

Yeah, I was thinking recently that it would be nice to see the OP updated, because it's hard to keep track. I believe this is all of them:

June 2021: Images and Words - Live in Japan 2017
July 2021: A Dramatic Tour of Events - Select Board Mixes
August 2021: Train of Thought Instrumental Demos
September 2021: Master of Puppets - Live in Barcelona 2002
December 2021: When Dream and Day Reunite
January 2022: The Majesty Demos
February 2022: Awake Demos
March 2022: Live in NYC 1993
April 2022: ...And Beyond - Live in Japan 2017

TheRich13

Thanks much bro ! And a Kamelot fan too no less !!
Awesome !
Appreciate ya !

"Another Day" IS available; you have to search for it, but it's a b-side to the "Lie" CD single.

I'm with you on wanting the complete shows that went into "Once In A Livetime"; I tried editing together the pieces from the DVD to the CD and from other (official) sources, but it was a holy mess.

425

Huh, somehow I didn't know that! Those Awake singles are valuable! I have the single of The Silent Man because of Eve, but I don't have Lie. I'm not going to pay the $58 Amazon price, but I'll keep on the lookout.

Almost 100% positive it won't happen. There are bootlegs of the full show, and IIRC, at least a few of the tracks that got cut were due to lackluster performances. You're better off enjoying the 1998 fan club CD, which is the perfect companion for OiaL and fills in most of those blanks.

I certainly would enjoy the 1998 fanclub CD if I could get it for less than an arm and leg. ;)

But yeah, that covers most of the bases, but I would like to get the full show, even if parts aren't so good (from JLB, I assume). And IIRC at least one song was chopped up on the CD release, so it would be nice to get that restored.

That's what I thought it was, and I originally had that in the post, but then I started doubting myself and took it out (I knew it was not the full song, but I couldn't remember if they played the full song and it was chopped or if they didn't play the full song).

Scarred has really gotten the short end of the stick in live releases. OILT was the first live release of Scarred, and then MP skipped it on LSFNY, Budokan and Score because it had that release, but it wasn't even the full song. Finally we get the full song on CiM, but it's... not exactly the best JLB performance. Thinking about it that way, BTFW is practically worth the price of admission for Scarred alone.
