SPOILER ALERT:  I had a dream last night;  The first CD of The Astonishing contains 3 songs (8min, 8min , 15min) and the drums sounded amazing! :D  And guess what..... The first song was On The Backs Of Angels with a different title.

Not really a spoiler when we already know it isn't true  :lol

I hope so :D

-Encore:  You Not Me; You Not Me II (Reprise)
Will that be with the polka breakdown, the dubstep extended guitar solo, the extra verses about how it's not about you or me but about them, or will it be the black metal single edit?

That's alright
I'm okay
If it happens every single day

Are they really going to have a song called Lord Nafaryus? This is TCOT level stuff here.

Well, maybe when being looked at individually.
It makes sense in the context of the album.

And TCOT makes sense in context too. I'm just saying, there is now a DT song called Lord Nafaryus. Let it sink in. :lol

Almost as bad as the bad guys in a cartoon series being called the Decepticons.

I would think that it's a little more understandable in a cartoon aimed at little kids to sell toys, than a veteran prog band's latest album concept, but nice dodge.

Yeah, well, we haven't seen the merchandise lineup for this album cycle yet.  If there isn't a Lord Nafaryus action figgerr I'll be shocked.

Note to self: Get the deluxe box set of The Astonishing.

Although I'm really hanging out for the PC game.

We'll probably see it soon with the next official update anyway.
Exactly, it's all going to be released eventually.

I deleted a couple of posts in this thread. Given how clearly bosk said not be posting or discussing unauthorised info, how about we stop discussing unauthorised info? :P

Do you think that the lyrics on the album will be like the emails?! You know,  I've bought my ticket for the show in Milan and I'd like to know if I have to bring with me the dictionary... ???

I'm thinking those song titles are just parts of a whole musical piece. Like Neal Morse's "?". If so, first act could be a 50 minutes piece of continuous music.

James.v6

Lord Nafaryus. I really feel that heavy strong 8 string character theme !!!

Random thought of the day: I'm imagining this song as merely a cover of Metallica's Sanitarium.

Lord Nafaryus, leave me be.
Lord Nafaryus just leave me alone.

Cyclopssss

Must say I'm unexpectetly stoked for this one!

emtee

Anxious to hear it for sure but a part of me remembers Styx's Kilroy Was Here.

noxon

I really really liked kilroy was here... when i was 10.

They are. It's called The Astonishing. And yes, I predict that the music on each disc will be continuous. Like Snow, or like SFAM.

Damn! I need to listen something new... I can't wait anymore! hahahaha

Or something like:

Lord Nafaryus within, I will fight for you
Lord Nafaryus of sin, now my soul is yours
Lord Nafaryus, my guide, I will die for you
Lord Nafaryus inside
Lord Nafaryus, amen, I belong to you

Standing on the back of Lord Nafaryus.

The Curious Orange

I can only hope "Lord Nafaryus" is an instrumental...

Also - "The Hovering Sourjon" - what sort of a title is that??

And I can only assume "Three Days" is a cover of the Jane's Addiction song... (That would be so kewl!)  :hat

Train of Naught

Nah most likely a tribute to the band with the singer who only writes about his drug problem, Three Days Grace, good fit to DT for sure.

Progmetty

I'm putting my money down on at least 4 of these tracks being spoken words section to move the story.

No matter how hard I try
You're never satisfied
This is not a home
This is what I'm longing for
You always disappear
And I'm feeling you here
Let him take you home
I think I'm better off alone

Home, home,
It`s what I long for
Home, home,
Where I belong

Train of Naught

Wow that took me way too long to figure out, I thought you had a very crappy link to the song lyrics..

It's weird, being a DT fan, I don't remember if I've ever felt the sensation of getting a lot of new songs at same time.
I was kinda getting used to the "11 - 12" songs format with ADTOE and DT12. And by the time of 6DOIT ( a double album like The Ashtonishing) I wasn't that much into DT. I started to follow them like "move by move" when TOT came out.

So you were getting used to the 6-9 songs format then.. They haven't done an album with 11-tracks-at-least since SFaM..

SDOIT has 13 tracks :neverusethis:

Ok, then:

"They haven't done an album with 11-tracks-songs-at-least since SFaM.."

Fixed that by me..

Possibly Lord Nafaryus is an instrumental... though considering how close to the Overture it is, probably not. Could be a cool track that doesn't have a cheesy chorus.....

rumborak

Lord Nafaryus,
your deeds are precarious,
Lord Nafaryus,
you were born an Aquarius. Aquarius, Aquarius!!
