Yeah it's not an ideal way to do things from a fans perspective - especially if they happen to add further shows elsewhere in the UK - but I suppose it's a pretty complicated thing to organise.

Anyway, I told myself I wouldn't do it, but I've just bought a ticket for the 2nd night   I managed to get row H and a seat right in the centre and what seems like a good deal at the Radisson Blu less than a mile from the theatre - breakfast included and the option to cancel right up until the day before if needed. Now I just have to organise transport. This album better be good  :lol

And there M'lud you have it, exhibit A for the prosecution!!.......

genome

Dammit  :tdwn I got two tickets for the 18th after nabbing a better seat the 2nd time around, and I'm trying to sell my other ticket for the 18th. This is going to make it a lot harder to sell!

If anyone wants a ticket (Row T Stalls) for the 18th, holla...

Lazlow Panaflex

Thought about it all day....just got home, gave in and got 2 tickets for the second night!!

Always wanted to see DT 2 nights in a row.  Hopefully my ears will survive ;D

Figured I'm in the Stalls the first night so why not check out the Royal Circle view for the second show!  Bought from Aloud.com, managed to get Royal Circle Row A seats 20 & 21.

The first Royal Circle ones they offered were Row A seats 1 & 2, I just backed up a page and tried again and they offered Row A seats 3 & 4 and I saw the pattern emerging...  Repeated this maybe 10 times until I was offered Row A 20 & 21.

The trick is not to release the tickets they offer you, just press back button on your browser and go again. Rinse and repeat until they give you the seats you want  ;)

Can't wait for these shows, February just can't come quick enough!

UK fans, be sure you get to The Palladium. London is the only UK city we're visiting this time. Don't miss the show! https://bit.ly/20HvPwP

Coolcat

It's going to be really big!
My daddy doesn't want to go though, he would rather be at a Van Halen concert...  :lol

Booked it!!!

ori.elias5

Is it possible to just buy the meet & greet pass as i have already bought the ticket?

mike099

Is anyone going to not listen to the cd until the concert?  If I were able to go to one of the first few shows, I think it would be cool not to listen before the concert.

Which show have you got your ticket for? If you look here: https://www.dreamtheater.net/tour - it looks like if you're going to the first night on the 18th, that you can buy a VIP upgrade. But if you're going to the second night on the 19th, those options also include a ticket.

No way I'd be doing that personally. I want to know the songs pretty well so I can get the most enjoyment out of the night - sing along etc. Even if it's just 1 new song a band is playing at a gig, I always wish I'd been able to hear it a few times in advance, but if it's a whole show like this is? Definitely not for me. I imagine some people see it differently and might do it though, but it'll be hard holding off from the album for those first 3 weeks!
Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww

ori.elias5

im going to the 2nd night. you think there is a chance they will sale just the pass?

krands85

Well I don't know how it all works, but maybe once most or all of the normal tickets are sold out, they might start offering VIP upgrades like with the first night? But like I say, I don't really know anything about VIP tickets, meet & greet or anything like that, I've never done them before for any gigs.

I fully agree. When a band breaks out a new song you kinda listen and be like "Ah that sounded ok, I'll have to check it out when the album is out"... then you get the album... fall in love with the song and then have to wait another year to see it live again.

With DT, I just have to know the songs like the back of my hand. Which is why it's going to be very strange only having a few weeks to get used to the album.

Just going to have to listen INTENSIVELY the moment the album comes out and hope that it is one of those DT albums that grows on me instantly rather than ones that take a good few spins for it to click.

We shall see!

I'm going! Couldn't afford it when the first night was on sale, then they announced the second night, and luckily I'd been paid, so I thought why not. Although this means that I'm going literally alone because all of my friends are there on the first night Proper excited though.

I'll definitely be listening before the concert, one of the reasons I wasn't too bothered about going at first was because I got the dates mixed and thought they were releasing the album AFTER these dates. Now I know I'll have a couple weeks to get into it first I'm way happier. I find it hard to click with any music when it's live for the first time, it just kinda washes over you with no point of reference, nothing to get excited about that's coming up, loses a load of emotional appeal with me.

Is anyone sorting a forum meetup beforehand or anything?

Did you only get the one ticket? I'm considering going now (got a payrise at work so could actually afford it!).

If anyone is going to the first show get your travel plans in place as Tube strikes are taking place from 17th Feb at 9:00pm until 18th Feb at 8:59pm.

Ugh.

Billzo

I propose the following.

Pre-Show meet up at The Argyll Arms (On the same street as the Palladium).

A very cool pub that I hope won't be completely rammed by the time we get there  :lol

Quite fitting really as it has a secret tunnel that connects the pub to the Palladium as the theatre used to be a mansion owned by the Duke of Argyll and he wanted a more discreet route to the pub  :rollin It also has a bar upstairs called The Palladium Bar.

I'd imagine people will meet from around 4pm onwards?

Who's in?

Ugh.

Thanks for that. What's the best non-tube route from Paddington? Bus?

The Curious Orange

To be honest from Paddington you could walk.

Oh, and we should be supporting the unions over this. TFL are trying to cut 800 safety-critical jobs. I don't really want to be travelling on an unsafe tube - do you?

genome

I've done that before, was a bit of a trek. I'm not sure I fancy walking after an intense 3-hour metal gig!

Union *ossers!!!.....that just about puts the icing in the cake about my frustration at having to get a rubbish ticket for the 18th only to see loads better ones appear a few days later for the 19th!!....As now if the tubes are on strike (won't be on the 19th of course!!) then that's going to seriously mess up my travel plans as I was driving down to a station on the outskirts of London and then going to get the tube into the centre  (not to mention travelling around the City during the day too!).
Anyone want to buy a crap seat ticket for the 18th? :(:(

Eh, no. The transport unions are a joke.

Could you not go on your own? That's what I'm doing  ;D

Has anyone received their tickets yet?

Gh101

Has anyone had their physical ticket shipped/delivered yet for the London shows? I ordered off ticketmaster a few months ago and was just a bit concerned about the lack of activity  :P

We will be counting those going to the opening show to give us a review of the concert.

Logain Ablar

Good news about the tube strike. That could have been a huge pain.

Anyone else feeling under pressure to get all the lyrics learnt in two-and-a-bit weeks?  :)

I'll be there. Just booked my travel :)

I'll be working until 5pm and then setting off from Reading via train, hopefully getting to the theatre around 6:30. I'll pop in for a drink :)

You should be fine since there is very little metal on this album
