Aha! Okay, twenty is good! And as long as at least one of them isn't region locked, it's perfect.

Just to reiterate, I tweeted RR earlier:

The better question is, will it be available on the same day?

I'm sure they will upload single on DT Youtube chanell as :soon: as possible

Well, why the hell wouldn't they do that in the first place? I don't get it.
I'm sure it has to do with RoadRunner's negotiation to get it on USA Today to begin with.  USA Today wants to get as many hits as possible which gives them more money.  Placing it on Youtube at the same time leads to less hits on the USA Today site.  And RR probably realizes that they'll get more listens if it is on a high profile site.  So it makes sense to place it there first from that perspective.

Yeah, I figured it was about the money. I really want to know how DT feels about this. Either way, I think it's bullshit. And yes, I will be spending my entire Monday, trying to figure out a way to listen to it, regardless of the means.

I get the high profile nature of the site and releasing the USA stream there, but locking out other countries on release day makes little sense. For once I would like to see it made available as a purchasable digital download for a debut. An iTunes stream and buy now option would be perfect. Still a few days out and I hope RR has more details for non USA fans. I'm sure that there will be workarounds, but it would suck to have to resort to them.

It will be streamed outside the US.

We know it'll be streamed - we don't know when.

I don't think there's any reason to assume it won't be simultaneous, so panicking would be senseless, but there's no reason to assume it will, either! Given that USAtoday appears to have been granted some kind of exclusivity, I'm guarding my hopes until I know it's safe to raise them.

cyberdrummer

RR on FB: "There are 20+ partners for this one, and we'll be using a SmartURL to make sure you can hear the song!".

I don't think there'll be too much of a delay, but let's wait and see. I might tweet RR again at some point.

I'm pretty sure if it WAS streamed worldwide at the same time, even through different sources, then they would've said so. But since they ONLY announced the USA Today stream, it really seems like that will be the only one for some time.

Possibly! But again, just speculation - you can speculate just the same in either direction. I think it would be a mistake to leap to any conclusion, I'm just erring on the side of caution.

Yeah, sounds good! Sounds good to give it a little, too. I'd feel a little cloying, constantly groping at their sleeve for increasingly literal definitions of "livestream..." but in fairness, it is kind of ambiguous.

I'm erring on the side of bitter pessimism.

Zook

I hope this song is more exciting than On the Backs of Angels.

Am I the only one here not only hugely pumped up but super happy about the coverage? Granted Im not totally sure how big USAToday is but it must be kind of a big deal over there. And they sought the rights to show the single exclusively before anyone else.

I could sit here and moan about not seeing it since I'm in the UK, but to me having my favourite band reach a potentially huge audience beats any complaints I may have.  :metal

mikeyd23

Whoa!  So pumped to hear this single!! And it's being released on my wife's birthday.... Choices, choices, what to do?  Spend time with my wife to celebrate her special day OR be listening to DT's new single over and over again all day....

Then it will be one of the more exciting songs in the Roadrunner era, for me.

Kotowboy

I enjoyed On The Backs Of Angels !

And yes - finally some new music. :)

I did think it was a bit odd that Trivium have a song out and their album is a month further away than DT.

dparrott

I got this feeling......we're gonna flood the USA Today servers.  I know they're a big newspaper and all, but there are a lot of DT fans wanting this.

MoraWintersoul

Call me crazy but I really think they were shooting for 5/8, when they considered which one would be the best date out of late July/early August dates.

And now people can stop complaining about how unfair it is that the USA possibly got first dibs, even though most music is released in Europe before America :P

Believe me, USAToday's servers will be fine. They, again, are the 247th most popular website in the entire world, and they cover huge national stories that get major attention on their site. USAToday, for those of you who don't know, is the most popular newspaper in the entire United States, and is distributed in all 50 US States. They are huuuuge, and, even though this is an internet thing, this is really great for DT.

Fair point :lol

Shadow2222

I'm going to assume that the preorder information will come with this. I doubt USAToday's article would want to end with, "Okay, did you like the song? Cool, see you later!"

It will likely say something to the effect of, "You can preorder the album containing The Enemy Inside at the link below."

:D Seriously, you guys got the JLB solo album way before us, and get everything else sooner too! And now you're all getting mad that we have an "exclusive" (let's see how long that lasts) stream early? No offense, but shove off   :P ;) ;)
