:D Seriously, you guys got the JLB solo album way before us, and get everything else sooner too! And now you're all getting mad that we have an "exclusive" (let's see how long that lasts) stream early? No offense, but shove off :P ;) ;)

:D

Hi. Canada here.
Wait, Canada is an actual country? I thought it was an American inside joke so I just tagged along with it all these years. :mehlin

I'll be sure to pass that on to JLB.

So, let's see. Monday we have:
- A new Haken song
- A new Headspace song
- A new Dream Theater song

bring it on, I can wait another weekend! :D

Just my thoughts. And the best part: The date has an 8 and a 5 in it :omg:

FallTempest

Its going to be fascinating to hear how the drums were mixed on the new track.. #mondaymadness #hashtagdtf

I feel more anticipation for Monday August 5th than I did for the birth of all 4 of my children.  Is that so bad?

:metal :metal :metal :metal

Kotowboy

Looking forward to this for two main reasons.

a.) To hear the new direction.

b.) To hear the supposedly awesome production :) [slightly more excited about that tbh...]

DeanTheater

"Cool.  However, DT's first singles since they have joined Roadrunner have been Constant Motion (meh), A Rite of Passage (not bad, but kind of forgettable) and On the Backs of Angels (really good song), so I will listen this to this with the assumption that it is more likely than nood at least a very good song"  per KEVSHMEV but annotated by Bosk.

I agree with CM and AROP, but disagree with OTBOA.  Best single release since maybe Awake.   also,  if you look at your KEV's original quote, I notice a trend towards GLORIOUS!  I think this single will be amazing

You mean like, if they don't like DT, you should give them up for adoption? That's a great idea!

Kotowboy

If you don't like The Enemy Within then you don't have to listen to it again.

However - if you have kids you don't like - you're stuck with them forever.  :(

I hope this is not another metal song about terrorism...

Kinda scary that even one of the teachers signed. Not sure if that says something about people from Virginia specifically, or people in general.

I'm wishing for some samples mixed in actually. Not shitty sounding like on I&W, but I totally wouldn't mind if some snare samples are mixed in with the recorded snare.

And thats why my anticipation for TEW is greater, because I know I can cut the chord, if it sucks.  BUT IT WONT SUCK!   :hat   woooohooooooo!

It's the enemy WithIN, so it's more likely about a given person's inner conflict... Their Dark Master, if you will.

Yeah I'm a fan of mixing samples in to add to or supplement the live recorded drum sound.  Usually makes the drums sound nice and big depending on the sample sound of course.

It is a fine line though, just a little to much sample sound vs. the real recorded sound and the drums lose that "real live" quality and sound like a drum machine.

Oops. The name is The Enemy Inside. So... I hope they didn“t get inspired by the Boston bomb blasts.

Rattlehead

Well that's awesome news... the start of the work week won't be as shitty now that I have this to look forward to  :lol

YtseJamittaja

So,

Is it a heavy song (a la BMU,BMD), more progressive song (a la OTBOA), melodic song (a la Wither) or what?

What do you think?

BFRedrocks

Told myself I wasn't going to listen to the single before the whole CD this time.  I've listened to the singles with the last few CDs and it's pretty much wrecked those songs for me when the CD comes out.

If you've done like me and played the single on neverending repeat from the time it came out until the CD was released, how many of you skipped over that song when listening to the complete CD?  I know I skipped over CM, ROP, and OTBOA for quite some time after their respective CDs were released.

I'll try this time, but doubt I can hold out another 7 weeks.   :metal

atmyne

i'm thinking it's going to be metal as all hell  :metal and not so proggy. A mesh between AROP and Constant Motion. That's mostly based on my theory that they're really pushing to make this their most accessible album, and typically metal is more accessible than prog.

If POTY means Phuck Off To You, then yes.

Yo!  Ghostie... at least bands come here to, you know, play a live concert.  :booya:  Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Now I have to go see Kamelot just to say I did, you didn't.  Might even shell out for the meet 'n' greet to get a pic with Tommy.

I'm expecting some kind of mixture between BMUBMD and Constant Motion.

I don't see any problem with listening to the single if you force yourself not to listen to it more than maybe 5 times. Same with the samples/snippets. I normally listen to them once or twice before an album's release and that's it.

It's dark and heavy, for sure. I'm willing to bet my Christmas bonus on that.
