Stop right there, Lolzeez. Metropolis should be at least number 1.

GasparXR

All awesome songs. I would place Metropolis at about the same spot.

BlobVanDam

I am ok with this update.
While I think Metropolis is an excellent song, I still think there are several better. It might make my top 20, but probably not my top 10. And that says a lot about the strength of DT's music that I don't rank Metropolis that high.

Italy agrees with you.

30.Vacant

An excellent ballad from a heavy album. Kinda funny that It's almost my favorite song on the album. The lyrics are easily the best on the album. They are so touching and meaningful. Combine those great lyrics with even better vocal delivery and a surprisingly good  melody, you got an amazing ballad. Short, simple, beautiful.

29.The Spirit Carries On

I'm not a huge fan of the cheesy gospel vocals. Yeah. But besides that, this song is awesome. The excellent guitar solo, the great vocals and so on. This song is awesome. Period.

28.The Count Of Tuscany

Cool epic. Too bad It's the only song from BC&SL to appear on this list. Yeah... Anyways I really love the intro on this. Especially that badass guitar solo. Also the song has some excellent lyrics. Not much else to say. Get into my car DTF!

The car that I don't own.

Erm.

THE COUNT OF TUSCANY!!!!

Pols Voice

Not bad placements for these. Vacant didn't make my list, but it's an effective song.

Polis

I really, really like vacant too, but I cannot understand how it can stand up to SOC or ITNOG

Unlegit

3 good songs. Vacant is very underrated.

BlobVanDam

Great choices. Vacant is hugely underrated, but it's such a beautiful song, and one of, if their most emotional too.

Because It's not too forced to be a long epic.

27.Voices

This song has some of the greatest misheard moments. Classics like "WHERE IS THE GIRL THAT I'M FEELING!!!!" and "SUCKS HIS DICK! CAPTAIN SEX!!!!!"  I just can not get these out my head. This song has great atmosphere.James screams and roars like it's just drinking a glass of water. JP's throws some legendary riffs here. And his guitar solo is just astonishingly good.

26.Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence

Yeah. I'm lazy.

25.Wait For Sleep

Beautiful piece of music. It's simple but It works. It really calms the album down for a second. I love it. And it fades into Learning To Live. It reminds me of Pseudo Silk Kimono at times. Gorgeous.

I........ don't understand your writeup for SDOIT. :lol
So I'm just going to assume that you are implying that JR's contribution to SDOIT makes the song like a wonderful Christmas Day full of joy and gifts! And MIDI controllers.

The other two are nice choices. I wouldn't rank WFS anywhere near that high (or Voices for that matter), but I definitely like that you are ranking the short ballads like Vacant and WFS up among the big stereotypical prog epics, because there's absolutely no reason that a 3 minute ballad can't as good as a 10 minute prog song. :tup

And Voices is one of my favourites off Awake. Nice choice.

Holy crap. Blob is actually liking a list!!?!?!?!?!?!!

BlobVanDam

Well, "like" is such a strong word. Let's just go with "not rage". :P

Not a bad list so far though. :tup

An octave down? What a copout, man.

Lolzeez

Sorry for late update. But here we go!

24.A Change of Seasons

Yes yes yes...Some people would say that this is DT's best song ever. Imo there are better DT songs. But this is just a great song. An epic journey. Its charm did wear off though. Probably cause I listened to LSFNY to death. Ah well. You will really go on a journey with Voyage 34 errr I mean... NEXT SONG!

23.Bridges in the sky

One of my recent favorites. It has a very cool intro with a christmas like sound and the shaman's voice which is pretty cool. And than the song explodes. It reminds me of The Glass Prison in a way. And yes,the chorus is some of the- No no no. The BEST from ADTOE. Does that mean the best song? I don't know. (evil grin) The solo section is awesome especially 7:37-7:55. I love Rudess' work here. Very cool song.

22.Raise The Knife

This song is just a beast. I don't understand why this song wasn't on the album. WHY? The song is very energetic and it has some excellent roaring guitar. The solo section is different than most DT songs. It's pretty unique. If you haven't heard it yet, give it a shot.

21.Space Dye Vest

I feel like I haven't used the word magical enough during the writing process of these horrible writeups. So I'll just use that word here. Space Dye Vest is magical. It's mysterious. It's like that girl you like but don't know. The song is what it is. The emotion and the meaning shaped this piece of music. Kevin Moore, you're a genious. This song is awesome. Thanks.

50.Through Her Eyes

Beautiful ballad. Very simple but It works.Btw I like the LSFNY version more with that guitar solo. Good stuff.

THIS.

BlobVanDam

Today's update is 3 drinks!

BITS is one of my favourites off ADTOE, although I feel the instrumental section lets it down *slightly*. Very forgettable, even though not bad. But it's a great heavy track, and it made a perfect opener for the tour. :metal I might rank it about the same.

RTK is ok, but I don't think I'd care for it being on FII. ACOS is good, but I wouldn't consider it one of DT's better songs. And SDV is in that half hour portion at the end of Awake that just seems to completely rub me the wrong way in every possible way.

Nice list so far... it seems we agree on a lot of songs being "overrated"  :lol.
