bosky, wake up!  You're missing all the fun!

I wasn't sleeping.  My respirator clogged, and I blacked out.

No worries, everyone survived.

RRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Well, I mean, it wasn't nearly as bad as the time I threw that creepy old dude into the pit and got force lighning'd in the process.  But it still wasn't exactly a walk in the park either.

BlobVanDam

How many times do I have to tell you, bosky? Blue milk goes in the left feeding tube, fried womp rat goes in the right feeding tube. The filter can't handle solids if you send it down the wrong one.

Poor bosky. He hasn't tasted anything for twenty years, and you even wonder why he was pissed off all the time.  :lol

New album release date was 'Late Summer' in my mind, did I read that officially somewhere? Summer ends September 21st give or take a day. Meaning new album August/September?

Then live album.

Right?

Guys?

....right? :)

YtseJamittaja

Yeah, the new album somewhere in Autumn, like September/October and Live at Luna Park in 5th of November.

Or I hope so at least, let's hope there's no delay this time..

I have closed my office door, and am listening to Epica's version of The Imperial March on autorepeat for the rest of the afternoon.

hefdaddy42

Hey, bosky.  What you do on your own time is your business.  We are not here to judge.

Someone bought up the fact that the Metropolis DVD took nearly as long to get out as Luna Park. The Metropolis one had loads of graphics and MS Paint-style borders tacked onto it. Imagine if Luna Park was the same?  :metal

EDIT: By the way I hated em on Live Scenes!

It's actually amazing, and perhaps a little sad, how quickly we've become spoiled.  Bands didn't used to release concert vids every tour, or every two or three tours.  You got them when you got them.

I love Rush, and pretty much every concert of theirs is great, but I think they may have actually raised the bar a bit too high.  They made a lot of concert videos, and now it's practically expected to get a concert vid for every tour, or at least every couple of tours.  And as we all know, Dream Theater are often influenced by Rush, but the same might be said of many of their fans.

This is the most requested song from my boys when they're in my vehicle. They call it the Darth Vadar song...

I still think this is a special case. We heard a few months ago that the mix was finished and whenever asked about more info we were told: soon. If they hadn't wiggled the carrot before us over the past six months people wouldn't be so surprised now.

For me I love it.  I hate when people complain why a band puts out another live DVD.  First I tell them they don't have to buy it.  Secondly,  I used to by bootleg videos of every tour, now it's great quality and the Blu Ray's don't cost that much.  Me likey!

Orbert

Oh, I'm not complaining.  I have a bunch of Rush vids, and all the DT vids as well.  I'm just saying that it seems people are expecting one every tour or two, and that's just gonna lead to disappointment.

me7 does have a good point, though.  It's not just that we're expecting this one, it's that the carrot has been dangling for a while, and they kept pushing it back.  In a certain sense, "not playing fairly" about it.  But eh, I tend to be pretty patient about things like this because I'll just buy it when I have both the cash and the opportunity.  I'm not a "must buy first day" kinda guy.

I think that's a bit unfair, I don't remember any major fuss being kicked up over the lack of a BCSL DVD. People are kerfuffling cos we were told to get excited for May, and they then went on a complete media blackout, before saying, "Yeah, it's delayed" at the very tail end of the month.

I'm not particularly fussed either way, I don't particularly mind the wait, but I think it's a little bit of a misrepresentation to say people are spoiled. I think people are all right to be a little vexed.

cramx3

There is no doubt that DT has spoiled some of the fan base with so many releases over the years but I agree, that's not where the anger of this release comes from. It feels like we've been docked around for the past few months. It stinks but its not a big deal because it will come out and it will be awesome and we have a lot to look forward to this August September and November and that's not even including the tour to be announced.

Anyone think the delay was so OTE could add footage from recording the new album? Since it'll now be released after the album and OTE has been filming them in the studio, instead of including footage with the CD, they'll add it to the DVD package to help promote the new album as well?

Then they wont have a reason to sell a 'super deluxe' version of the CD when it comes out with a "making of DVD".  It also doesn't make sense for a "making of Dream Theater(S/T)" disc to come with the luna park set.

me7

If they want to promote the album that way, then the BluRay should be released before the album, not after it

nikatapi

I keep thinking that they might include some MM instructional stuff, i think he said in the DTNorway podcast that he was planning to do a DVD but it won't happen after all, although i'm not sure i remember correctly.

It would be a great bonus though.
