The DT Top 50 Songs tracker thread

Hello everyone. Hefdaddy has allowed me to take over the running of the DT to 50 lists. In an effort to try to speed things up, I am making some changes.

We are going to do this similar to the Top 50 Album Lists on the Music Discussion forum. When it is your turn, you will start a thread that will be devoted to your list. We will have 3 lists going at once. I feel that any more than three would clutter the forum too much.

When your name comes up on the list, I will post in this thread, as well as send you a message. At that point, you can start your list in a new thread. If you aren't ready to present your list, then I'll bump you down one slot and let the next user post. If you no longer wish to share your list, then I'll remove you from the list entirely.  If a week has passed and you haven't started your thread, or responded to the message, then I will bump you down one slot and let the next user post.

You can present your top 50 however you want. However, I ask that you complete your list within a month, so that more people will have the chance to share their lists. It's up to you how many songs you want to unveil per post or per day. If you need less than a month, even better. But if a month has passed and you're not making a genuine effort to wrap your list up, then I may ask a Mod to lock your thread so that someone else can begin their list.

It might take a couple of days for contestants 2 and 3 to get their lists going since they've been thrust into the spotlight with no notice. So we'll be patient with them.

Great changes, although I'd be a bit more strict with the time frames. 1 month is really pushing it, especially considering that the lists should be done before they're due. I'd settle for 3 weeks. Waiting a whole week in case of no response also seems excessive, 3-4 days would suffice. Minor complaints though, glad the changes are finally here.

Not a bad suggestion. My thinking was that worst case scenario, 3 lists plus 12 months is 36 Lists. We'll see how it goes. If people are taking to long, we can consider cutting the time down.

Well, when your turn comes around, if you feel that it isn't the best time based on DT12 or for any other reason, then I can bump you down one person at a time until the time is right.

Thanks to this new system I've finally enjoyed the fan top 50'. This makes it much easier and clearer to follow a specific person's taste. It's really been fun to revisit songs and look at them through someone else's eyes.

I'll bet. I don't think I could even attempt it. I may be DT's least critical fan...other than a few notable exceptions I enjoy the lot.
