Mindflux, I've seen you get an attitude with quite a few people recently. Just calm down and enjoy the forum   :tup

Six Degrees is most definitely a well received album here.

I am enjoying the forum. I just post infrequently, but my registration is in the low 300s.  Been here nearly since the beginning.

I like 6DOIT "ok", but I still don't see everyone fapping over it it.  I see a lot more SFAM/I&W/Awake/ADTOE fapping for sure... with good reason except maybe ADTOE (not a fan of this one either)

Six Degrees is weird. It wasn't received as well as Scenes when it came out, but it's standing has gone up with each subsequent release, until ADTOE. From 8va thru BCSL, it was very easy to consider each new DT album as "the best since Six Degrees".

Then there's me who thinks that Six Degrees blows the doors off of Scenes From A Memory from the first time I popped it in the CD player. Jordan needs more control of this band.

Still sounds as fresh as the day I first heard it. But then I'm all for a band that pushes the envelope.

To me 8VM is near perfect aside from Panic Attack (lets leave this off the Vinyl) and the last 10 mins or so of 8VM Track can go too. Not a fan of the MP written chunk..

Your personal preferences are not something anyone can argue with, but do you actually expect a vinyl release of an album to not include that album in its entirety?  I mean, is this a serious suggestion?

Getting rid of Panic Attack and ten minutes of Octavarium would basically get rid of the whole concept of Octavarium, at least in the NUGGETZ aspects of the album.

I'm just saying I could do just fine without them.  At least axe Panic Attack.. :p

I'd buy it if it happened that way, sure.  I know it won't.. but if I were to make a 8VM "preferred" playlist, Panic Attack would be gone and I'd have a modified Octavarium track missing the last 10 mins or so.

At least there are MP3 Playlists and audio-editors for those reasons! Have at it, and you can DIY your own 8VM if you like!

Personally, I love the album as it is, and it's in my Top 5 (after IAW, SFAM, SDOIT, and ADTOE...yes, Awake is beaten out by 8VM). Love the songs, love the concept(ual ideas), love the artwork (a BIG sell on me), and just everything about the album in general, especially the title epic.

8VM is probably my second favorite album. SFAM>8VM>SC>I&W .... I just can't stand Panic Attack.. I don't think it goes well with the rest of the album and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the JP/JLB written portions of the title track.. just not the MP part.  Yeah and the artwork and the 8VM analysis page really ratcheted up my love for it another few notches.

Can't wait to get my hands on my "RED/GOLD SWIRL" edition. Any information on when they'll actually ship? I'm meeting Mike Portnoy (February 22) only three days after the "street date" and it would be so awesome to have it signed by him but I'm afraid it'll arrive too late for that.

Yea, if only it was easy to make our own vinyl!  I'd do it all the time, color-coordinated to the artwork.  You'd think in this new era of technology, they would have made that process easier.

They arrived today!

Pic is below, they should start shipping later this week

Does this come with a lyrics sheet? I know the original had the lyrics on one side of the inner sleeve and I know this edition of the vinyl won't be gatefold so I was wondering if the lyrics were somehow included in this.

Edit: I should say that I have this pre-ordered at a local record shop so I am eagerly waiting for next tuesday to pick this baby up!
Just wondering about how this release all worked out since you weren't allowed to make it a gatefod.

No lyric sheet on this one, for whatever reason they would not allow us to print the lyrics but for the next releases(the one that have not been pressed before) we will be including lyrics or at least plan to although all the specific details have not fully been worked out yet for the rest

Just an FYI, the color pressing was only through Brookvale's website. Local music stores, if their ordering from a distro like AEC they will get the black pressing

Shadow2222

@EnjoyTheRide What was the finalized cover for the test press? Really excited to get that and frame it.

Got my shipment notification email not more than an hour ago!!! Cannot wait to get this! Hopefully it'll be here by next weekend! I still can't believe I bought this (and SFAM) and I *still* don't own a record player...

Guess I'm just a sucker for new/exciting DT products, and the swirly vinyl was too beautiful to pass up!

Mine's on it's way too!

Received my shipping info as well......being in Canada it may take a couple of weeks to get here. Man that colour swirl looks amazing!!!!

Cedar redaC

I'll probably be picking mine up at the record store on tuesday!

Unfortunately, my record player has been acting up and playing everything fast, even if the RPM is correct.  :(

countoftuscany42

the website says the swirl version is sold out? true?  is there anything special about that version other than being beautiful?

The swirl was only available on the website and limited to the first 500 pressings.  Other than that, the black version is identical.

Algo Fonix

Kinda bummed I wasn't able to get the swirl version, but I'm definitely picking up the regular if it's available once I'm not broke.

Sort of regretting getting the swirl...they look delicious.

Why do you regret getting them...because...you might eat them??

My color version is on its way, but my local record store got them today, so I picked one up and will keep the other one sealed. It reminded me of the day I got the CD version almost 21 years ago... Sounds good so far!

I got mine today too. It's sounds so great! :metal

I was burned out on the album for a while. I think this might change things. :)

Just finished listening to the I&W vinyl after picking it up early....and wow!!
I thought the CD sounded awesome already but the remaster you did for vinyl sounds so gorgeous!   :hefdaddy
Brookvale Records and Enjoy The Ride Records, you have done it again!
The sound and quality of the SFAM vinyl is perfect and you have continued your amazing work with this masterpiece.   :tup
I will continue to buy every one of your DT vinyl reissues.  ;D
