The moment you know it's gonna be a great album.

Serious Wizard is SRS. :metal
Look at all us freaks cluttering your city streets
Still scalping their ticket-less applause
Spun monkeys on the railroad track, take me to the caine field; I walk along pick my spiderbite
Basically Kyoko Kirigiri

MoraWintersoul

Looks badass.

And that Mellotron is cool.

Hey, that gray patch in the background doesn't look natural. It's clear that they had the release date of the DVD and the album art/tracklist and a collection of JM's hand written emoticons there and they couldn't let us see all of it.

Quick, someone apply the CSI filter to the glass so we can see the reflection of the whiteboard, then flip the image so we can read the words.
Although it's probably just JP's secret salmon recipe he was going to cook up for the guys to celebrate the new album.

You know why they did that to the gray section, right?  Because they saw what was done to just a piece of paper that was next to JP and realized that the lyrics were accurate.  Clearly the information was meant to be hidden and therefore very valuable.  it is now imperative that we get on that CSI filter soon.

@blob: 100/100, would hire.

That's exactly how I feel here from time to time :heart :heart :heart :heart :heart

Implode

I had a dream last night that DT release a couple 5 second clips of some songs, and they sounded slightly poppy side, akin to Circus Maximus's latest album. Also, Devin Townsend was a guest vocalist on one song.

aprilethereal

^^I wish I had dreams like that. The only music-related dream I remember featured me hearing Black Winter Day by Amorphis on the radio. I guess I was just really looking forward to the release of Circle ;D

Nothing wrong with a slightly poppy DT by the way.

:heart fretless and speaking of that i just saw Gutrie the other day doin a demo on a new fretless guitar which was pretty sweet.

As cool as that is it creeps me out, just like lefties, and doesn't seem natural.  Fretless bass I don't start sweating around but fretless guitars give me the heebie-jeebies.

^ Or they'll just backing track it like they have ben recently for backing vox etc.
While I think this is more likely, what I loved on the Octavarium tour, was hearing how the band tackled the unusual arrangements. With songs like Sacrificed Sons and Octavarium, that they'd been playing every night, there was still a real anticipation seeing them live, because a. I was fifteen and it was my first DT gig, I'd have been excited by The Ones Who Helped to Set the Sun on loop, and b. I had no idea how they were gonna pull it off without an orchestra. Turned out, easily! But SS, in particular - doing the string parts on the continuum was really, really cool. I'd like to see more of that.

QuoteJust finished my final lyric for the new DT album. I start solos in about a week. Time to put down the pen and get to the woodshed!
