It's pretty cool.

Though I wonder how the unicyclist got from a rope above the plane into the plane's turbine... :P
The rope snapped. It's fraying on the cover and everything!

The rope snapped? That's a dramatic turn, isn't it?

And all this without even moving a muscle once. :D

Well, if that's true, then that was a pretty lucky landing that he landed there. I mean, he looks none the worse for wear, doesn't he (I think that expression is correct...)?

Small wonder he actually managed sitting on the unicycle while being sucked in. Too bad not everyone survived...       roar.

If you take a closer look he looks like he is... in a very black-holeish fashion :D

For what it's worth, I'm not entirely convinced that's the right dimensions. I haven't measured it, but the JPG is square, and even accounting for the white bits, it looks rather... wide, for a DVD cover. It does have a ring of truth to it, though - it's very Hugh Syme. I'm quite confident it's legitimate, but not sure it's final. It might be for the CD, rather than the DVD?

...If anyone's actually measured it, I'll shut up!

Pols Voice

Is this unicycle duder DT's official mascot now?

countoftuscany42

looks about the right size for a bluray, and the early version without the skyline might be the cd version, since it was square..

I doubt it. He's likely used here just because it's a DVD of the ADTOE tour, like how the CiM DVD has ants on it which are from the SC cover.

philmcson

It's a great cover although I don't really see the "sense" of the plane especially if you compare it to Maiden who were travelling in their own plane across the world..... but ok, it looks great and that's enough.....

That explains it, it's just a still from the moment the unicyclist crossed the even horizon.

I'm sure there's a joke to be made about bending time but I can't think of anything now.

Blargh. They're still squishing the logo like they did on ADTOE. Blargh, I say.

Still buy it though.  :metal

A Dramatic Horizon Of Events

By the way, has anyone noticed that the price listed on the japanese amazon is roughly 75€ that is to say 97$?  :|

Zydar

I guess that includes shipping from Japan, via Jupiter and Mordor.

I would hope so. 75€ is something I would grudgingly spend only for the DVD+BD+3CD deluxe box. It's quite some price, to be honest.

?

Don't know about Blurays and DVDs, but CDs are always much more expensive in Japan than in other parts of the world - that's why they often get some bonus tracks. Considering that, I don't think that's a completely unrealistic price for a Japanese DVD/BD/3CD release.

I hope this doesn't mean that the bonus tracks from the second night won't be available worldwide. That would be sad, even though it's hardly a realistical possibility.

?

Don't worry, exclusive bonus tracks are usually just for CDs - I'm sure we will get them as well! :)

I'm also a bit disappointed by the release date, I hoped to receive the set as a birthday present, but it seems that it will be quite belated.

I'm pretty sure that only applies to studio CDs. Which actually really sucks, because they get new original material in Japan, and the North American audience literally have no way of getting it short of importing or illegally downloading.

wasteland

The same goes for us EU citizens. Why did only Japan have to get Eve on Awake?  :censored

?

Yeah, it sucks, but the record labels in Japan need some extra for the albums so that everyone won't just buy cheap imported versions of the albums.

Yeah, well, they could have like, live versions of some songs. Or remixes, or something. But new, original songs that will never see official releases outside of that country? No fair.

?

Some bands do have bonus live tracks on the Japanese editions, but maybe the Japanese labels encourage to record something extra in the studio, because new original songs will always get the albums more buyers. However, DT haven't recorded any B-sides (unless you count Raw Dog) since FII era, so one could say we're lucky.

Oh yeah, for sure. I am referring to several of my other favorite bands, specifically. Still, I feel like all that bonus stuff should be released in some capacity in other countries. Maybe even as a "Japanese Bonus Track Compilation" type CD.

Same. I was hoping for early May, since I'm going on fieldwork for my study in early May. But it seems I'll have to wait to see this DVD until late June :(

Where does it say the release date, exactly?

It's May 15, as mentioned in the stickied thread.

Okay, that's what I thought. I just thought maybe there was news of a delay, since people are saying they're disappointed in the release date.
