JLB: Dude, we're talking about the model.  We know you play a fucking bass.

JP: James, settle down man.

JR: Don't talk to James that way.

MM: Woah Jordan, watch your TOOOOOOOONNE

Paul Northfield: Why did you guys invite me here?

Fixed.  :tup

Not this thread too. :lol

Most liley James. He always looked, and especially so of late, the one most deeply in touch with the fan's thougts and ideas and feelings.

Even as he holds us in his arms?

Also, I knew my paying attention to JP's shirt was important, as I don't think this one is from the Argentina shows: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=452031608188806&set=a.452030961522204.103217.135021603223143&type=1&theater

Possible bonus material - something from the rehearsals or some other show? I know JP wore this shirt in Berlin on the Euro tour but not the jeans and the sneakers  I'll have to do a major search in the ADTOE tour pictures I guess.

Not the Argentina show for sure but as Wasteland said it's probably a rehearsal.

He would put on the puzzled but courteous expression, and after a few seconds realize and laugh at how affectionate and crazy we are

That's what you would expect from the man who wrote Disappear, Vacant and Far From Heaven  :)

So, trailer in a few days? I'm expecting a clip of On The Backs Of Angels, and it's very cool because we have never seen enough of that song live in the video.

Oh, sure we will! A trailer has already been handed to the band and it's likely to be released within the next few weeks, or even earlier. This of course must mean that we are pretty far down the line of the process of developement, which is also quite expected as 5 months already elapsed since the concert was shot.

I'd say we would not too optimistic expecting an April/May release.  :tup

April/May sounds good.

Score seemed to be pretty quick. Recorded April 1, 2006 and was released August 29, 2006.

I'm probably a few months late to the party but regarding some posts in the last page mentioning a commentary; I'd love one, though honestly without MP it's gonna go kinda like...
*James being goofy*
*Awkward silence*
*JP mentioning something ironic that happened during the last tour*
*Guys talking about how MP used to do this and that, and how they played in Buenos Aires before or something*
*Awkward silence*
*...Awkward silence*

*......................Awkward silence*
JLB: "Hey John, what did you play there?"
JM: "............Bass."

I doubt it.  James and JP especially can talk for days when you let them, and are VERY entertaining to just listen to.  Come to think of it, same with Mike.  I think a commentary would be VERY interesting to listen to.  And honestly, not to bash Portnoy, but his style and manner of kind of taking over the conversations during other commentaries can come across as overbearing and offputting.  I got used to it, but I remember being very offput by it on the Live Scenes and WDADRU commentaries especially.

Totally agree with all of the above. You have to remember that if they did a commentary, they'd probably put some forethought into it--what would make for interesting facts to mention, conversations to have, etc. Not that the whole thing is entirely scripted, but it's not like one day they just come in and make everything up on the spot. With a bit of forethought and planning there's no way they'd just lapse into silence.

I personally didnt think the orchestra sounded the greatest.  Not that I disliked it, just thought the mix of it wasnt that great, especially compared to other metal concerts with orchestras

Jay.Ess

The orchestra was a bit out of tune in a number of places, so that would have contributed to it not sounding too good in the mix..Shame about that. Still I love Score though :D

I'd also say, on the subject of audio commentaries, (which was only two posts ago when I started typing - feels a bit late, now!) that I was listening to IaWLiT last night and John Myung was... surprisingly forthcoming! He's not the chattiest bloke in the world, he's not starting conversations and he's certainly one of the least talkative people there, but he's laughing, he's joking, he's joining in. "Whoa, John's stage left! What are you doing over there, John?" "I think someone was baking some cookies."

Possible I'm getting voices mixed up - I had it on as I was trying to get to sleep - but there were absolutely five voices to mix up. And he's seemed more forthcoming lately than he ever was at the time, too. I'm not suggesting he'll be constantly mouthing off WDADRU-style (so I'm told), but hearing what he's got to say is often a highlight. If we get a commentary, I reckon he'd muck in, in his own mystical way.

Never bothered me in the commentaries - I was a new fan when LAB came out, I was eager to hear everything that everyone had to say - but certainly in recent history, it became a little tiresome only having the one perspective. He was clearly growing tired of giving interviews, and I'd have to say, if they'd recorded a commentary for Score or Chaos in Motion, I wouldn't be nearly as interested in hearing Mike's perspective as I would be in hearing the other members speaking out. Great that he stays in contact, and I always relished, right up to the end of 2010, that a member of the band was so eager to share information with the fans. He's the kind of bloke who shares everything he's thinking, and in many ways that's great, but I think, in the context of a commentary, it'd risk drawing focus from what might've been a rare opportunity to hear from some of his less outspoken comrades.

Which is a long way of saying, "Never bothered me at the time, but it'd bother me now, so I'm quite eager to hear how a commentary without Mike Portnoy might sound." God, I do go on.

Definitely. It wasn't as great as it could have been (which is why I consider Budokan's mix to be better, among other aspects). I wouldn't have minded if they took another 6 months making sure everything was perfect for release. I'm prepared to be blown away by this release, which will probably be a step forward direction-wise, mix-wise and visual-wise.

I'm always surprised by how much JM chimes in with all the commentaries, actually. It's not really just isolated to one. Maybe LSFNY he was a bit more detached, but LiT/5YIALT/WDADRU he's very engaged. And obviously he'd have to pick up some slack by default, with MP not steering everything.

Prog Snob

Just a quick side note regarding commentaries.  Besides DT, the funniest commentary I ever heard was Type O Negative's After Dark.

MoraWintersoul

I really hope there will be a commentary in the first place :mora:
