I think most of that stuff was generated for the trailer.  I highly doubt any of that will be on the performance disk.  The documentary?  Probably similar to the drummer doc.

I was gonna say I hope the real show has less of the sweeping shots. Because I wanna watch the band mainly, not feel as though I'm on a simulator..

BUT WHAT IF IT SIMULATES AWESOMENESS?!

Anyone else notice the fan with the DT tattoo with all five band member faces at the 9-second mark?  Wow.

JP:  "Between the hi-def and 3D video, the huge audio mix and the documentary style behind the scenes footage, you are truly transported to the arena and completely immersed in the entire live experience." --> Interesting...

3D Video should be cool for me with a 3D TV :)

"Thanks guys! We're super proud of this one. We'll see what we can do about getting you some sample clips and maybe replacing the audio with the live counterparts. ALSO: we plan on releasing a very special bonus feature exclusively on our Facebook page in the next couple of weeks ;)"

You ninja'd me!

Can I flash forward in time please please please please.

Why are they always teasing us? They must be looming about here and basking in our compulsive anticipation.  :rollin

Prog Snob

Just watched the trailer six more times with my 2 year old.  She is apparently as excited as I am.

Oh shit, can someone confirm this was actually said? Super excited if a 3d bluray comes out!!!

I hope it's a mistake. 1) I haven't bought into the 3D Hype. 2) When I've tried 3D at friends/store it's never done 'anything' for me.. 3) 3D is a fad, it'll go away. etc etc etc.

While they're at it, can I tell them to fix the wonky-ass DT font and Copperplate Gothic? :getoffmylawn:

Video looks very promising, but I'm interested to hear the audio. Budokan is still the benchmark of audio/video quality for DT, and this seems like it may rival it.

You do realize its just an option right? That's like saying, "I hope there isn't a DVD version because standard definition is awful."

I still hope it's not. I'm going to buy the 'super deluxe' edition that Roadrunner offers, and I'd prefer it to be less expensive because the lack of a 3-D edition of the show.  Also your example makes no sense. Why would I not want the DVD if the standard def is awful?  Supposedly 3-D bluray is the pinnacle of our technology right now (aside from 4K). Backwards analogy is backwards. I don't want it because it's a fad, not because it's 'superior'.

Makes perfect sense. Don't want it because it'll make a package more expensive, need special hardware to view it (if one wanted to view it), etc etc.

It's right there in the youtube description.

^ Yep just saw it. I shot them an email to confirm it, because this is really exciting if true.

you already made up your mind that you are buying the most expensive package (before any packages were announced) and you want to deny people an option just that YOU don't have to pay more. riiight

I think you're right :D Go for the 3 hours!

Most likely. I had compiled a 3-CD set list somewhere in this (or another thread) that compiles all the songs from both sets. I wonder if they'll keep them in set-list order, or if we'll get a complete disc of "ADTOE Live" with all 9 songs in album order (despite not having been played that way).

I can only assume it's all the songs since 2 CDs would've been a maximum of 160 minutes, and there's more music than that, so I think we'll definitely get both nights on 3 CDs (minus repeats).

No, I said I hope it's not an option due to no desire/no hardware to do it/gimmick. Like I have any control over what they release.  :loser:

Weymolith

I have a confirmation the Mativision content films 360 degrees, not true 3D that requires specific hardware to view.

Over the Edge Productions It comes out in May and no, it's not 3D. What JP was referring to are the 5 cameras on stage that film 360 degrees. There will be an app released where you can switch between cameras while watching and control, live, which direction you're looking. Gonna be sick!

is getting better with every news!!

An early (7-8 years ago) example of using 360° cameras.... at 2:44 it seems as if you can spin around Lemmy. Again, this has been filmed and released almost a decade ago so I think now there will be more effects available than just spinning....

wasteland

I must be honest, that was not really aesthetically pleasing.

Eh, disappointed about no 3D (seriously, it is a great technology when used right).

This sounds cool though  :tup
