Who cares if a string quartet is the only "surprise"? What did you think was going to happen? What would have satisfied you? Kevin Moore cycling out on a high-wire like the clown on the cover?

You guys just build yourselves up with excited for the sake of being broken down sometimes, I think.

Amazing that no one has given me the slightest bit of an actual response, just a very large amount of hyperbolic sarcasm.

I'm upset because DT made it seem like there were going to be quite a few changes and surprises. Maybe they'll be tomorrow night. I'll be very happy if they come through.

I don't see why everyone is bashing Adami. Just because he's a bit bummed that there haven't been many changes to the setlist yet doesn't mean he's flipping out or that he set his expectations too high.

Ok,

Sorry your disappointed, pal.

Mike wouldn't have let this happen.

Are people forgetting there's one tomorrow too? I would expect more surprises tomorrow, but I think the quartet is great. It's not an orchestra, but the right amount of different. I just want a DVD, don't care if there ridiculous surprises

I didn't forget. In fact I stated many times that I have hopes that tomorrow isn't just a B set with the string quartet on the 2 acoustic songs.

I have no pride or principles in this matter. So if they impress me tomorrow, expect me to be very happy about it.

I can't remember. Is tonight a longer set? Cause normally setlist A would end right there. But if it's a longer set, maybe they'll throw in an extra song or two?

I'll cross my penises.

I'd definitely expect more surprises on night 2. I think a quartet is kind of retread after Score/Octavarium, but it's still a nice little addition to change the songs up.

Also I just had a dream about this. In my dream I woke up and read through 4 pages to find that nobody had even updated a real setlist. Then I actually woke up and thought "damn, I have to read through that again?!" :lol

I think that for every ounce of slight predictability tonight, there will be a Kilogram of "Say what?  :) " tomorrow.

An idea just ran through my head for a brief moment: What if they play Eve with the string quartet, now that would be a surprise. Probably won't happen, but it certainly would be surprising.

:lol Is the "slight" too much?

I don't care if tomorrow is just Set B with a string orchestra. But I would love them to bring out a rarity, like "To Live Forever".

senecadawg2

I don't care if there are no surprises. The DVD itself is enough for me, as long as the camera work and audio is really high quality. It's also pretty funny how people are getting annoyed with Adami for being a little disappointed.

Well Metropolis should be over now...

I guess either that's it for the show, or the exits have been barred and the "surprise" caged bears have been loosened on the audience.

EDIT: DAMN IT!

Adami

Could have sworn I just posted this.....but I'll try again.

Here's hoping they play it less safe tomorrow night. :)

But really, how lame would it be for the people attending both nights to hear the same set list with 5 different songs?

I actually was a little bit disappointed too, and Understand you well. Just wanted to say the hyperbole for the shits and giggles.

This actually brings me hope that they play quite a different set tomorrow. Who knows!

Cedar redaC

So the setlist would be:

Dream is Collapsing
Bridges in the Sky
6:00
The Dark Eternal Night
This is the Life
The Root of All Evil
Lost not Forgotten
Drum Solo
A Fortune in Lies

Acoustic Set:
The Silent Man
Beneath the Surface

Outcry
Jordan Rudess Solo/ Surrounded
On the Backs of Angels
The War Inside My Head/ The Test that Stumped Them All
John Petrucci Solo/ The Spirit Carries On
Breaking all Illusions
Metropolis w/ jam

BlobVanDam

Decent setlist, although I wonder if every song will be included on the DVD after they edit both nights? Having WIMH/TTTSTA on this DVD seems a little odd considering they had the same combo on Budokan, and they had the full SDOIT with orchestra on the last full concert DVD. And TSCO? Enough said there.

I'm trying to find something to disagree with there, but I can't find anything.

This just in: James LaBrie/John Myung solos tomorrow night. Haven't heard much yet, aside from the word "scat" being thrown around.

Perhaps because hyperbolic sarcasm was what you started dishing out from the beginning.  That or the fact that you feel the need to drop your negative attitude after every song announcement.

As for me, just glad I am getting a good DVD of this concert tour since I couldn't make any of the shows, but that just makes me a yes man I guess.

I can just imagine it, James doing something to the effect of Clark Terry's "Mumbles"

Not sure why me being disappointed makes you so upset. Especially if you're as satisfied as you say you are. Can't you just be happy with the dvd and accept that not everyone loves it as much you might? I mean, some of us aren't going to be as thrilled. And that's perfectly okay.
