anyone have the setlist for the Crimson Projekct?

Crimson Projeckt doesn't open for the band until the June 19 (Columbus) show.

oh, thanks (and Scotty, too)  :tup

Seeing Metropolis in the encore did not excite me at all.  So many other songs they could try in this slot.

Seeing as I have seen PMU as the final song / encore at 3/4 of the shows I saw (and the 4th show... which was my first... had TCOT which I wasnt digging at that time)... ... ..

I'd be stoked if the encore with Metropolis when I see'em

So, it was:

Bridges In The Sky
6:00
The Dark Eternal Night
This Is The Life
The Root Of All Evil
Lost Not Forgotten
A Fortune In Lies
Wait For Sleep
Surrounded
On The Backs Of Angels
War Inside My Head
The Test That Stumped Them All
The Spirit Carries On
Breaking All Illusions
== Encore Break ==
Metropolis, Pt. 1

?
Not too shabby - was hoping for more surprises, honestly, but there's plenty of good stuff there. Nothing that inspiring for when they film the DVD, but they've got most of Dramatic Turn rehearsed, plus 6:00, which will basically do me. Happy to have The Root of All Evil with the new ending, too. It's better than the studio version, so we need proof of that.

Hoping These Walls makes it onto Set B. The more These Walls in the world, the better. Feels like we should have something from Black Clouds, too. Not only is it not on DVD, but they never did a headline tour of America with any of it. A little something off that would be nice.

Also, the acoustic interlude. I loved the acoustic interlude. Unless Wait for Sleep and Surrounded are getting the acoustic treatment, it looks like that's been ditched, which would be tragic. Really hope they bring that back for the recording. Even if it's one night only.

im going to confirm that they didn't play wait for sleep, i dont know if I was
just super sloshy when i wrote that in or what, but LOL i'ts caused controversy all over the web...

Thank god the Pirate is in good shape. Usually the first show of a tour is iffy, but apparently not this one. :)

Since you have attended the gig, can you say how full the venue was?.

zipporaid

half full probably, but the armory was probably too big a venue for them in rochester...
it's just a huuuuge room, like 300 feet by 150 or something. I would estimate 2-3K people.

It was poorly advertised, even by the sponsoring radio station... so mostly just diehards.

I believe they might have played there just because they got a good deal on
being able to rehearse the whole week ahead of time.

DarkLord_Lalinc

The lack of youtube videos disappoints me. Security getting harsh again?

Dreamer81

No Lost not Forgotten video after 3 gig?? you must be kiddin me...

My thoughts exactly. After two legs (or have there been 3) and quite a few really decent youtube videos of everything else in the setlist (IIRC), the only songs I'm really excited to see at this point is LNF and TITL (at least until the official live release comes out  ;)).

Glassmoon85

Root of All Evil?? Wow, I'm surprised to see a song from the AA suite make it into a setlist after MP quit the band. Simply badasstical!

i think this can be said about alot of the shows for this tour

Shadow2222

That's why I really wish they would announce which show is the DVD show, so that it can maybe fill up more with a sudden rush of ticket purchases.

It happens for a lot of prog bands. When Opeth played here with Mastodon, not a word was said about Opeth on the radio. Only Mastodon and Ghost were mentioned

Hope they dont show the animated video for TDEN. I never liked that.

I would be surprised if they ever showed it again live, since MP isn't in the band anymore. I have always loved the animated sections that they used for Octavarium and TDEN, that's why I thought the "Dream is Collapsing" intro with the animated bit was so cool. Hopefully they'll continue to do those..

Shadow2222

In the videos, it looks like old monster movie footage is being shown, which is pretty cool, cause it fits the fun and cheesy aspects of the song.

Breaking All Illusions

I was at this show. I have always loved Dream Theater. They are my favorite musicans in music, it was great seeing them. I knew Mike Mangini was good,  but I didn't realize how great he was until I see him live. They put everything they have into playing great live every night. They are one of the best live bands I have ever seen(tied with Rush and Iced Earth). I saw them again Sunday at Artpark, that too was great.
