BITS remains, LNF and TITL added, TDEN stays. I'd call that a great setlist. :hat

Adding up the track times in my head, with estimates, that looks like a 110 minute set! AWESOME!

I managed to restrain myself.

RaiseTheKnife

Hope they swap out TDEN on the B set, cuz I don't want to listen to it 3 consecutive nights in a row.  Same for War/Test, but I think the couplet will remain firm in both setlists.

kevinpwrs

Not a big fan of TDEN, FIL, TTSTA or WIMH. I'm sure they will be ok when I'm standing in the 8th row watching. Hope they dont show the animated video for TDEN. I never liked that. They cant please us all and I'm sure we will like the show no matter what they play!

NOTE: The interlude in OTBOA was not planned (at least it wasn't supposed to be so long). John Petrucci's guitar was not working so they improvised and JR and MM did a mellow jam. It was beautiful!!!

EDIT: To clarify, SURROUNDED was played tonight.

LOL I didn't notice that part of it.  It was really great - were you close enough to see what happened?
It was absolutely seamless, and I was near a tall guy that obscured JP sometimes...

Thanks for confirming surrounded, I went to bed last night thinking I was crazy because people put stuff
on setlist.fm and didn't have a couple songs I remembered.

wasteland

Wow, an impromptu jam... Would have loved to hear it! Did you see many cameras/cellphones shooting videos?

zipporaid

there was a decent amount, but I didn't see anyone doing it for more than 1min or so...

2Timer

Yeah, I am also wondering how security is this time around.

zipporaid

I never saw anyone make an effort to stop the process.

Me too. It seems a lot of people upload their videos the next day after the show, rather than trying to do it the same night after getting back from the show. Understandable, but I'm impatient!

I'm quite concerned, actually. The last half of the past US leg and the first half of the Asian Leg are completely missing on youtube (and I checked everyday at the time of the shows). I hope this doesn't happen again...

I will say, unfortunately, that the email I received containing my itinerary for the Cleveland concert Meet and Greet said, "Absolutely NO cameras of any kind, including cell phone cameras, at the meet and greet AND concert."

:tdwn

Also, someone changed setlist.fm and said they did not play Wait For Sleep.

yeshaberto

anyone have the setlist for the Crimson Projekct?

You can't take a pic with the band anymore?

Shadow2222

No, you do get the picture with the band, but they take it. You aren't allowed, for example, to take video or pictures while in line or getting items signed.

Crimson Projeckt doesn't open for the band until the June 19 (Columbus) show.

I really hope Metropolis sticks.

I really hope it doesn't. It's not as if they haven't played enough already on previous tours. I'd love to see them give that one and PMU a complete rest from a tour (as in, not played at all).

Actually I understand why they'd say that about the MnG since it will slow the process down a huge amount. But that would be pretty lame during the concert. Personally, I'd go into the concert with your phone and/or camera ready since security is rarely that strict - especially with phone cameras.

I don't believe they are opening the first few shows on this leg of the tour. I saw someone on MP.com ask how the opener "Dark Day Sunday" was.
Quote from: BlobVanDam on November 13, 2015, 07:37:14 PMAs a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

Madman Shepherd

I'm surprised TWIMH and TTTSTA seems to be generally not liked that much.  I thought I was the only one.

It seems to me those two songs get too much play.  I don't think I've ever heard About to Crash live but this will be maybe the third time I've seen those two...unless they (hopefully) switch them out.

Extremely unlikely, at least on this leg. I agree with you, for all that matters. About To Crash is terribly overlooked by the band.

nikatapi

I expected some more changes on the setlist, but it looks pretty good. Can't wait to see LNF on youtube :metal

GasparXR

Great setlist. I can't wait to hear a bootleg of this concert or another with the same set.

Nothing yet on youtube. Weird.

I know. Surely someone managed to get some video. Like, ANYTHING.

I haven't seen a single video from the two Osaka shows in April, and only a 30 second snippet from Nagoya two days later. Unlikely, but it happened. Yet those who were at the Rochester show confirm that there was no nazi-style rule enforcement, so I guess we'll just have to wait a little bit longer...

Ultimetalhead

Awesome set. I really hope Metropolis sticks, because I'm dying to see that one live.

Damn, you spoiled your setlist!! I was rooting for you  :censored

Ultimetalhead

Just couldn't do it.  :(

Honestly, I'm still kind of glad I looked at it. I'd still be holding out for The Glass Prison or In the Name of God, so now I can deal with the disappointment before I get there. :p

KevShmev

Very nice!  Good to see This Is the Life and Lost Not Forgotten both finally get played. :coolio

And I hope Metropolis stays for the whole summer.  It being arguably their definitive live song, and this being Mike Mangini's first tour with the band, it makes sense to play it a lot to see the treatment he gives it. Plus, it would be nice to finally get a whole version of it on an official live DVD with just the five of them playing it.  :tup :tup
