As I Am

I'd like to go to this show (already going the week before to the PNC Arts Center), but I am really concerned about the facility. It sounds like it's all outdoors and actually on the race track? WTF? Why would they play there? A much better venue would have been the Sands Bethlehem Event Center (saw the Queen Extravaganza there last week and it was a great place...not to mention an AWESOME concert)!

UPDATE:

"Dear Dream Theater Chester VIP fan,

Harrah's Chester Downs has assured us that there is no age restriction and that the Dream Theater show on July 21, 2012 is an all ages event. You no longer need to worry about refunds, as all guests will be able to attend, regardless of age.

No further action is needed on your part and all of your tickets are in good standing and still valid.

Thank you and we apologize for the confusion"

So there you go kiddies, no need to worry. :)

whew, good to know. strange that this was even brought up though..i mean on the harrahs website it does say all concertgoers must be 21, but the tickets say 18, now theres no age limit? screwy system...

Joep

Just out of curiosity, is anyone (without a ticket) going to listen to the show from their boat on the Delaware River?

OsMosis2259

On facebook I got a notification saying "Bandsintown canceled the event Dream Theater @ Harrahs Philadelphia Casino & Racetrack- Chester PA"

Should we be worried?

Is Atlantic City far from Philly? (pardon my ignorance, but I only became aware of AC's existence watching a HIMYM episode a few months ago  :lol :lol )

Low tickets sales?. Seems like they're not having a good promotion for this tour.

If it's the ticket sales are not going well, why add a new date 20 days before the show?

Since the new gig is just an hour away from the Philly one it seems like they're replacing it more than adding a new one.

In a city that alienates a good number of people that could have made Philly but not A.C.

My guess is that it had to be a problem with the venue. With the age thing we already saw communication was an issue, so I'm guessing they canned it and the band couldn't find anything available in Philly.

That's quite logical, I think things may have have developed this way. So, are you folding or will you follow them to A.C.?

PlaysLikeMyung

This is fucking bullshit. I will see them from second row no matter what  >:(

FrostbiteZ

What really pisses me off is that Ticketmaster.com havent informed me that the gig got cancelled/moved

Taken from Ticketmaster help section
QuoteYou bought tickets, but stuff happens. Don't worry, we're here to help.

Canceled or Rescheduled Events
In either case, we'll alert you ASAP.

Canceled Events - If your event was canceled, in most cases you won't need to do a thing: we'll inform you of the cancellation and refund the amount you paid for your tickets, including all fees (except UPS and retail pickup, and fees on certain Major League Baseball purchases) on the same payment method used for purchase. If you bought your tickets at a retail outlet, please return them at the same location.

Rescheduled Events - If your event was rescheduled, we'll contact you with the new date and time ASAP. Can't make it? The decision to issue refunds for rescheduled/postponed events is up to the individual artist, team, venue, or promoter, but we'll do everything we can to help! Just click here to contact us.

According to the supporter that I spoke to they
QuoteTicketmaster does not send out updater emails. Those come from the venue.
how is the venue supposed to update me when they dont have my mail and does it not in TM's help that they will contact me ASAP?

I also spoke to someone from Harrahs regarding a question to my seating and she wasnt aware that the gig had been moved, but she would find out and asked me to call her later

OsMosis2259

Yeah I hope we get the money back. I haven't been informed about anything yet.

Joep

Agree with Frostbite.

Unsure if they are transferable at this point.

Harrah's knows nothing and wasn't helpful.  Caesar's customer service rep will call back with an answer.  Worse case is to drive back to Harrah's get the refund and order online.

Rkeister

i called VIP nation, they said they have no notifications of a cancellation and that it should still be fine.

PlaysLikeMyung

ticketmaster website says cancelled, and instead shows an atlantic city venue

PlaysLikeMyung

I sent an email to ticketmaster.

If I can't keep my second row seats I'll probably say fuck it...

DTFan0789

Well this is fucking bullshit. I bought VIP Meet and Greet tickets for this, and I've yet to receive any notification in my email from VIP Nation.

One thing that could possibly explain the cancellation is the fact that there is an Aerosmith concert in Philly at the Wells Fargo Center on the same night.

Joep

I'm still going.  Twenty minutes from my shore house or twenty minutes from Chester makes no difference to me.

Not sure if that's the reason, but speculation is running wild.  This past Friday, Maiden played Camden and Coldplay played Philly.  Even if the Phillies played home, they could have done this.

Something else to speculate on: Ticketmaster's site has all of the seated section listed as 'Sold Out'.  Gonna go out on a limb and guess that they are transplanting the Chester ticket holders in these seats.

Twenty days to figure this out.

Cirone328

Problem solved! We all stay at Joep's house at either location for a short ride to the show!! :metal

Rkeister

yeah, i got the VIP tickets and I don't care either way which venue it is. I just want to be told so I can make the changes i need to get my package revised.

Exactly. They better get on this shit, stat.

QuoteHello Will,

Thank you very much for reaching out to us. We're very about the event cancellation. I've reviewed the information available for Dream Theater and it appears that Caesars will be be handling the exchanges for the event, they will be offering comparable seating. If you'd prefer, we can offer a refund for the purchase price of your tickets but they must be mailed back to us. If you'd like to proceed with a refund just reply to this email with the last four digits for the credit card used for the purchase and we'll send over the mail back information.

Didn't say if I just have to bring the old tickets to the new venue or what, but good that I'll be getting comparable seating

countoftuscany42

This is really lame >:(
im seeing the SF show, but was gonna see the chester show cause im in philly for college orientation.  Dont really want to deal with going to atlantic city, but if they can get us good seats maybe we'll do it..
but besides, if age was the issue at chester, who's to say ill even be able to go to AC? (18..)

OsMosis2259

If they can just transfer the tix to the AC show, then thats not TOO bad because I was really excited for my seats.  I'll be in AC the night before so I'll just stay another day haha

Joep

Cirone, the party is always better down the shore.  And besides, little more time away from the wife to play ain't all that bad.

I agree!!! I'm kind of in the middle. 45 mins from AC, 25 mins from Chester.

DTFan0789

They better damn well make some sort of official statement about this soon. I want to be sure beyond a shadow of doubt that my VIP ticket is going to be honored for this event before I go booking a room at Caesars.

Would be nice to get some official statement.

The person I spoke to on TM's Live chat said that tickets will be honored. As for my question regarding seating they told to contact Harrah's and here is what Harrah's said
Quoteyou will need to contact Ticketmaster's customer service team. Unfortunately, we do not have information regarding seating for tickets sold by Ticketmaster. We apologize for any inconvenience this information may cause
So I'm back at square one :-[
