DTF Nugget!  Just turned my head and saw mrjazzguitar four rows behind me and LudwigVan two rows behind him.  Don't think either of them have stopped me though. Lol... If either of you guys are reading this look a few rows in front of you and slightly to your left.  I'm wearing a Dancing Turtles shirt...

Waiting for the encore.  Crew is bringing out a Crimson Project drum kit.  Looks like we're getting a two band jam :)

nestcmartin

Larks Tongues In Aspic Pt. II would be beyond epic.

Yawn!

Maybe the grass is greener on the other side because you're not over there fucking it up.

What version of To Live Forever did they play (just out of curiosity)?

MetropolisWatches

The Root of All Evil was swapped out for Paradigm Shift (with Tony Levin of course) and A Fortune in Lies was swapped out for To Live Forever (a very random selection.) Instead of Metropolis for the encore they did a group performance of 21st Century Schizoid Man with members of the Crimson Projekct.

Crimson Project setlist was the same.  DT just walked on stage.  First song is the same.  More updates to come as they happen...
Crimson ProjeKCt swapped out Elephant Talk and played Sleepless instead.

They played the version recorded around Awake (with the newer verse at the end).  No extended jam in the end.

All in all I enjoyed both nights.  DT was definitely better tonight than last night.  Though I did enjoy aspects of both nights.  Definitely worth the trip out here to see these shows!

My bad.  I actually missed part of their set.  I was just assuming it was the same from what I heard.

(And, for the record, I'm aware of the spelling... I was just typing from my phone and didn't feel like manually overriding the autocorrect :P)

Yeah, definitely bring earplugs.  It was CRAZY loud.  Much louder than any other show I've seen at The Paramount.

I'm quite surprised to hear this. I've been to many DT shows and I've never found them to be a loud live band.

I agree.  I've seen them 39 times.  Last night's show was almost certainly the loudest.  The only other one that even came close was the one-off headlining show in Massachusetts that they played during the Maiden tour.

Not really.  I wear earplugs at most show these days.  But I guess it depends on what kind of earplugs you've got.  I find that the cheap generic ones destroy sound quality, but if you've got decent ones all it does is lower the volume without really effecting the sound.

Any recommendations re: "good earplugs"? I bought a pair at a music store that sound better than the average foam ones, but I hate the way they feel in my ear. They're rubber and have a little hole that leads to a filter I guess and are kind of ribbed on the part that is inserted into your ear. The foam ones feel way better in my ear but, as you said, kinda destroy the sound quality.

These are the ones I use -

They're not exactly high end, but they're pretty good for the price.  To get real top quality ones you're talking big dollars.
And I don't find comfort an issue at all.  At first I didn't really like the way they felt, but I got used to that pretty quickly.

Pettor

No Count of Tuscany? :(

Was really hoping for that one on the DVD.

Sadly JP confirmed that it won't be played. Too long  :'(

Zydar

Great to see To Live Forever, it would be very nice if they played it in Argentina for the DVD shoot.

Well, TLF is one of my favourite songs, but not so much without the ending crazyness. Still a great song and a GREAT event to see it coming back after eight years (last time, Wallingford 04). I hope it makes the DVD.

Of course I hope this show was bootleged, and I have the feeling that the band itself might have made sure it happened ;) Still, I'd like to have an audience recording too  :tup

It's quite possibly venue related.  Every time I've seen them at the Paramount in Denver they have been incredibly loud shows.  One time in particular I was wishing I had brought my earplugs as my ears were ringing all the next day.  But when I've seen them at outdoor venues in Colorado (Red Rocks, Pepsi Center parking lot) they weren't that bad.

I wasn't really commenting on the spelling at all.  :)  I just capitalized like I've normally seen it capitalized in the past.

And TLF instead of AFIL? WTF?
Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

Did Kanye West join them on stage to rap the verses from "Power" as well?
