37. Innocence Faded

James is a god.  His singing on this track is unbelievable even if you might not be able to understand what he's saying half the time "Something, something, god it's Sunday do haaaaiiirr". I love Mike's and JM's playing; there's a great groove on the verses.  Petrucci's solo it's excellent as always.  The Score version is bloody brilliant.

36. A Nightmare to Remember

The second of three songs off Black Clouds to make my list.  The riff after is the intro is ace, James sounds cool, Jordan uses some cool sounds under the verses and I love Mike's drum parts.  The 'Beautiful Agony' section is by far the best part of the song and that's the only reason it's higher than it would be.  To be honest, I wish that section would be it's own song. It drags far too much after that and the 'day after day' is dreadful.

35. Wait for Sleep

Beautiful track.  Moore's playing is tremendous and James sounds amazing.  There's some lovely lyrics too.  Not sure what else to say about this track, it's just brill!

I'll do another update later!  :)

I'd put ANTR higher, but probably place the others a little lower.

Got sidetracked, I'm back now.

34. Peruvian Skies

Seeing this song live really made me appreciate it more. There's some beautiful guitar work and JP's solo is awesome. Also his little licks sounds phenomenal. I think Derek really shines on this song too, he plays very tastefully and uses some wonderful sounds.

33. Another Day

Here we go again, the legend that is James LaBrie.  Unbelievable singing from the man.  Some great playing from the lads, I love Portnoy's drum parts. The sax is nice to hear.  Very cool tune!

32. Scarred

That bass intro...wow.  Anyway, this song is of my favourite JLB performances, he sings with such power and intensity while also conveying such emotion.  Amazing, I wouldn't swap that dude for anyone.  The section from 5 minutes on is gorgeous.  The only part of the song I'm not a huge fan of is the guitar solo, the keys solo is ace but I dunno, it's just never grabbed me.

31. The Glass Prison

Fucking ballsy, metal, bombastic and intense.  I love this song, it' really makes me wanna get up and headbang.  I'd love to see this song live, I hope they play it on the next tour.  I love how James' has such that clean voice compared to a lot of metal bands, it really gives it a different edge.  The riff at 5:53 is amazing, one of my favourites parts of the song.

BlobVanDam

I'd put TGP about 30 places higher, and Peruvian Skies and Another Day are well placed, and great songs. :tup

Nekov

Not sure PS would make my top 50. The other ones are great choices

Awesome batch, I'd put Scarred and TGP a LOT higher and Peruvian Skies lower.

Peruvian Skies and Scarred are way too low (#17 and #15 in mine respectively). I had Another Day at exactly #33 as well and The Glass Prison was at #47 in mine.
Good choices though.

I like your list except for TROA, Blind Faith and Scarred. I would put them 20 or 30 places higher ;)

30. Misunderstood

'If I seem superhuman I have been, Misunderstood'.  There are some beautiful vocal melodies on this song.  James sounds great and Petrucci's backing vocals sound great.  I love they way the overdriven guitar comes in on the chorus then builds up into a great and very experimental instrumental section. Petrucci's backwards but not quite backwards but forwards solo is very cool! Great tune!

29. Lines in the Sand

Phenomenal.  Everything about this song is brilliant.  They've wrote something very proggy but with such a great groove to it.  Doug's backing vocals on the chorus are a nice addition.  The guitar solo is absolutely amazing, great job JP.  The section after the solo is by far my favourite section.  'In the stream of consciousness...' excellent stuff.

28. The Silent Man

Not sure what to say about this song other than it's just a gorgeous little ballad, it's really fits great into the A Mind Beside Itself suite.  Can't wait to hear it with the string quartet on the new live DVD.

Nice update, though I agree with Mr. VanDam, LitS is a Top 10 song for me.

1 good song, 1 great song and a beautiful and wonderful ballad  :tup

Lines in the Sand is top 10 for me. The rest are good too, but idk where I'd put em.

iamtheeviltwin

Misunderstood is a great track, one of their most experimental in many ways.  It has some of my favorite lyrics of any DT song.

The other tracks are good picks as well.

*Insert obligatory "objective comment" that ____ is too low and / or ____ is too high*

Ok with that being said, nice list  :metal

Misunderstood and Lines  :metal. Top 15 stuff. TSM is also great.

27. Outcry

I love this song.  It has great verses and a very strong chorus.  Mike Mangini really showed how capable he was of being with the band during the instrumental section, which I might add is brilliant.  The lovely little bridge after the instrumental is beautiful; it has a really nice bass and drum groove and James sounds lovely.

26. Far From Heaven

Wow, I adore this ballad.  Jordan's piano playing is beautiful and very tasteful.  James sings his heart out, really good.  The strings sound ace and Myung's bass is a great addition.  Jordan's keys at 2:35 are especially good.  I love it.  Also James' lyrics are really top notch.

25. Lifting Shadows Off A Dream

Another beautiful track.  Some great playing from all the guys, Petrucci's muted picking really sounds great throughout the song.  Portnoy's parts are brilliant, some great drumming.  James sounds great as usual, he sings with lots of emotion, uses his range and sings some lovely harmonies on the last chorus.  Of course Myung plays brilliantly (that bass intro is amazing) and he wrote some exceptionally good lyrics.

Nekov

Lifting Shadows is such and amazing and underrated song. Top 10 material for me

BlobVanDam

I dislike two of those, and think the other is merely "ok". HOW DARE OUR OPINIONS DIFFER.

Destiny Of Chaos

I've been following these lists. Haven't commented on them because I don't want to "tip my hand" so to speak. Just waiting patiently, again :)
