No, it has nothing to do with any live performances.

They all end with the Instrumental > Last Chorus > Instrumental Outro pattern?  :lol

Mbarak

Next thing someone will say they have notes that are on a Dream Theater song  :-X

I'm trying to think of a hint without giving too much out..I'll give it a bit of more time.

Ok, here goes...

Under A Glass Moon
6:00
Raw Dog

BlobVanDam

Anybody who listens to Raw Dog to remember what it sounds like to find a similarity deserves to win this by default. :lol

And what about me who listened to 6:00 to remember what it sounds like to find a similarity? :neverusethis:

John94

They all start with a single instrument?

namgalsipsclar

6:00 is the only one for which this is true. Raw Dog has guitar/drums/bass (maybe lol) and UAGM has guitar/keyboards.

ddtonfire

Hey stop hijacking my tribond with your opinions!

Its just I can't stand raw dog, but I'll try and answer the puzzle.
Is it that they are your 3 favourite songs?

Hmmm, it sounds like you might not have even heard Raw Dog, so maybe it doesnt have to do with the music :P

ddtonfire

It was a joke about how low JMX is in the mix for Raw Dog.

Mbarak

Each share a word with another DT song

The Glass Prison
6DOIT
War Inside My Head

Yeah I can't listen to the songs now to find anything common musically  :-[

They all end suddenly?
I love Raw Dog by the way.

namgalsipsclar

I wouldn't have really said the endings are sudden, they seem to be well structured endings. If they are sudden then so is most of DTs catalogue

I was thinking the same...

They all had silly working titles? (The Battle Of Jimmy Cocoa and Fishface, Beachhouse Reality and Raw Dog)

fibreoptix

They all have a solo spanning over multiple segments of music? This is a guess based on NOT going back and listening. :coolio

Mbarak

Wow, people can't get themselves to listen to Raw Dog even to answer the question

I listened to it. Not that bad, actually. Still couldn't figure out anything from it though. :(

I was joking, i actually like it.

But since you are already here Blob, when are we going to see the new DT animations on your website? The snippits I saw from crappy youtube videos looked really good!

Temporary thread hijack, sorry

Mbarak

Really hard to find specific things in common between these songs

Drums of each song end with some double bass work?

namgalsipsclar

ddtonfire

Not what I was thinking of, and nope. I'll give a hint later this evening if it isn't figured out by then.

namgalsipsclar

Ok so this probably applies to most DT songs and I'm probably clutching at straws but is it to do with time signatures? What I was thinking of was that in both 6:00 and UAGM there are repeated sections that are in 4/4 (I think) for the most part, but the end of the passage is in a different time sig
