I think he just means the similarity in sound is emphasised by juxtaposing them in the set.

How were the backing vocals handled in TGD and PS? Did Petrucci cover them, I guess?

They should close with You Not Me
That would be pretty funny if they played like 10 seconds of it, then went to ACOS.

REPOST:Somebody ask who is doing the backing vocals. Just JP, JP and JR, a vocal harmonizer or samples?

BRGM

What a great great setlist! These Walls, Endless Sacrifice, Peruvian skies, The great debate?!?!? Man! I love it

My guess would be samples, a la Prophets of War, but I'm keen to find out too. Quite excited.

I always wondered how they'd handle Medicate, what with James overlapping himself in the song.

EDIT: Oh wow! I just pressed "PLAY" on OtBoA as TGD was still fading out... it totally matches!

On Score, James just truncates himself, and there is no overlapping.

Aye, I know. Wondered past tense. I saw it live before Score was even a glint in Mike Portnoy's eye. Just saying that I have a bit of a record of wondering how they'll handle vocals. :p

I have no idea of whats better the setlist or the intention of it?

perfectchaos180

It seems most of you are really for or against this setlist

I on the other hand thing its an incredibly "ok" setlist >_>

I'd probably be disappointed after I left.

Although they could remedy anything with an Octavarium or ACoS encore.

Haha, indeed I am. I just don't really like Endless Sacrifice, Forsaken, Under a Glass Moon and Peruvian Skies that much. I consider them kinda mediocre compared to the rest of the DT discography (or indeed compared to the rest of the album they are each from).
Also, Through Her Eyes, WTF?

Close with "The Count Of Tuscany"!!!

I hope THE is the rock-out-ending version!

Also, what are the chances that they learned 2 songs from each of their first 10 albums? So they can swap out and switch creating a variety of setlists between 20 (well, 21) songs?
