What I loved about this interview is that the whole MP situation was covered pretty much entirely, discarding any misinterpretations and such on the matter. We got numbers (Mike wanted a 5 year hiatus, so that DT would make a triumphant return afterwards), we got real insight about the MP wanting to come back thing. And, also great insight of the writing process of this new album. This interview is what I was looking for.  :D

I totally agree.

Also, I'm OK with the album coming out in September.

The coolest part of this interview other than the insight on MP, is that the word DEMOS was used, which leads me to conclude that MUCH more thought is going into DT11.

Demos are always used.  One member writes a song, and demos it for the rest of the band.  That's how ideas are shared.  Saying demos were used is like saying a painter used paint.

That's not how many DT parts have been written lately.

?

September! :metal I feared it would be October, I hope they can keep September as the month of release!

September... oh well, it could be worse - we could have been waiting for five years if MP got what he wanted.

But DT stopped using the demo process with Octavarium.
Nice to know that after DT11, the fans can look forward to another ytse jam demo release somewhere down the road (hopefully).

If I remember correctly, they stopped demo process with SFAM already (unless the Metropolis Pt. 2 demo, that was meant for FII, counts), Train of Thought being an exception.

September its official!! JP JR interview on music radar

It's not official yet.

Quote"I think the new album looks good for September," he says. "We don't have an official date yet, and we're kind of playing around with titles. But I'd definitely say September is the month we're shooting for."

The fact that James has spent 30 days so far on the vocals bodes well, no?

It means a lot of time and thought is put into making the vocals sound amazing. I don't know how this could be seen as a bad thing. I just wish they can release the album info and a release date soon!
