I love this - Home was the song that I immediately put on when I read this morning's news. Mike Portnoy is back home - I really think they should open with that song for his first show back.

It will be a song we have not heard yet, the new track from the upcoming album. I assume touring is done and DT is moving toward the studio/writing phase, hence the timing of the announcement.

Old song: either Metropolis or Overture 1928 / Strange Deja vu.

New song: the most fitting opener from DT16 of course.

Can't imagine other scenarios. Well, I "can", potentially they can play any song, but my money would be on Metropolis or the initial SFAM combo.

I guess it depends on the new album's sheduling. If they don't hit the studio until next year, the album will most likely come out in mid to late 2024. If they do a short tour run before the album release (like they did with MM back in 2011) I think it'll be anything from MP's catalog; but if they start touring after the new album is out, then it's definitely going to be one of the new songs.
