I will go to my grave thinking the opening to The A-Team is the greatest television opening theme/sequence ever. You get the synopsis of the show in 68 words, words every boy who grew up in the 80s should have memorized. Then a bombastic theme plays over clips from the show, setting you up for the quintessential 80s action you are about to experience. I also love what they did with the theme in Season 5, with the drum intro and clips from the trial episodes, before the new version of the theme kicks in.

Not the subject of the thread, but the ending theme is the greatest song played over closing credits in the history of television.

Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.
The Adventures of Pete and Pete had a pretty good banger of an intro.
I honestly think a lot of people wouldn’t believe this is a tv theme song, it sounds like a single.Due South.. https://youtu.be/22FIBrVwf6M?si=1VwRSZABs_H3w7Aj
That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad
I fear for the day when something happens on the right that is SO nuts that even Stadler says "That's crazy".
Remember the mark of a great vocalist is if TAC hates them with a special passion

IMO the opener is easily 100 times better than any of the individual episodes. Or, indeed, all of them.
Definite nostalgia kicking in here, but the intro to Star Blazers had to have been the best intro to an animated show I saw as a kid.
south park's theme song takes the cake. that groove, it just hits the sweet spot. honestly, it's the finest thing les claypool's cooked up to me, not too big on primus. and i gotta admit, when i finally got what kenny was saying, i cried laughing. i dare you to look it up. i'd share, but i can't say it here – i'd get the ban hammer!
The lack of Magnum P.I. or Simon & Simon disturbs me though.
It’d be a long list of Mike Post themes from the 80’s.
Must've been Kwyji sending all the wrong songs.

The final freeze frame on that one is perfect! The YouTuber posted about it but it is missing the MEOW at the end.
