Both overrated. Unless you count watching the grammar nazis losing their mind. I take pleasure in that without even trying. So the circle of life here. I'm not working on it to get better.

I'm a stickler for grammar when it matters, but I don't like to be an ass about it. Except to you, because then it's just good fun.

Work is definitely overrated though. And it's not even that highly rated anyway.

It is about rushing and not proofreading. Funny though at work, I proofread all my emails before I hit send. I think I'm just relaxed here online and I'm lax in checking.

I can be lazy on proofreading at times, but since I make 99.9% of my posts from my PC, it's a bit harder to king it up so badly.

Morning all. New phone arrived yesterday evening, and is perfect. All set up, synced, and ready to go. Very pleased to finally be done with the broken one.

They're investigating the incident to see who dropped the ball. There are so many steps to making sure nothing like this happens, but human error is sometimes unavoidable. This is the third incident of someone being hit by a train in the past few months. The federal government got involved this time so everyone in the company is being spoken to about the incident.

John - that's awful. There was an incident earlier this week I think where a woman who was determined to be mentally unstable pushed another woman in front of a speeding train. Not her first offense of it either.

We're thinking it was the motorman of the train that didn't receive the call or forgot about the call. When people are going to be working on the tracks, they're supposed to call the RCC, which is the control center. They then notify the conductors about it so they know to slow the train down in those areas. The flagmen that got hit are 20 years on the job and flagging is basically their main job, so it's more likely that the motorman messed up.

It's sad for their families, especially coming up on the holidays.

Sunday I start the night shift for six months, midnight to 8. I'm not looking forward to it, but I do get nighttime differential so that few hundred dollars a month is always welcome.

My new job is most likely going to be nightshift. 630pm to 7am 3 days a week. I'm looking forward to the change, I'm only going to be working three days a week.

I couldn't work nightshift. Aside from the obvious offset absence from my family, I think my body would revolt if I tried to switch up my patterns like that.

I worked third shift for a large chunk of time when I was in college (and between colleges). TBH, I didn't mind it.

But that was before I was married with children. I would probably hate it now.

There's a drastic difference between doing it at 20 years old and 41 years old. Hell, I used to drink all night, be out all night, and get home in time to drive to work. I can't do that so much anymore.

I haven't had a night of drinking in a long time, and it's been even longer since I've been properly wasted. It just isn't something I do much anymore. It's better to sit back and sip a fine liquor than to hork down gobs of swill so I can't remember yacking it up a few hours later.
