Boss is in the office today through Tuesday. She's keeping her distance from me for right now but I'm not holding out hope for that to last all day.

We are all getting rather annoyed at her lame incentive for the end of the year. She claimed she would give us between Christmas and New Years off with pay if we got 200 people pre-registered for next year's Summit by Nov 11th. Despite offering that as a perk when we were all hired, she's now using it as an enticement to get us to sell sell sell. She claims 200 is a reasonable increase over last year. But she's wrong.

Last year we had 26 pre reg attendees. We currently have 73 for next year. Already we have almost quadrupled last year, but she wants what is in reality an almost 1000% increase year over year, or she won't give us off. She's already booked her end of year trip so she won't be here. She's setting us up to miss the mark.

Gah I want my new Pixel.

Not 5 days after preordering the new Pixel XL from Google, my phone starting shitting the bed. Got stuck in random bootloops, freezing, failing to connect to networks and the bluetooth in my car. After much frustration and some confusion, I figured out the WiFi radio has bitten the shit. The MAC ID is nonsense and it can't turn on or read any open networks. In the past week, my Bluetooth radio has begun intermittently failing to maintain connections. I've been stuck trying to ration mobile data since I have no option of using WiFi.

Because I preordered a few hours after they went on sale, instead of at the asscrack of the sackstitch of the release, my phone is not scheduled to ship til the end of November, though Google has a tendency to be overly pragmatic when it comes to shipping estimates and often fulfills early. Not so yet, with my order, and I'm chomping at the bit every day because I just want a fully functional phone. I'm annoyed.

I have no doubt that it's an amazing phone. Ordinarily it would just be impatience for a new gadget that has me irking for it. This time around, though, I've actually lost functionality on my current phone and would really love a full device.

I can't remember the last time I drank a blended Scotch.

Last week my poison was bourbon, the week prior was a nice Glenmorangie 10. Not even remotely sure what I want tonight if we go out. I'll have to mull that one over.
