I'm doing lots of work this summer holiday. But i'm thinking of the money.

Can't wait til the summer hols are over at the end of August and I go back to doing 16 hours a week again.

Meeting my friend for lunch today, plus yesterday I hooked two coworkers up with tickets to the Halestorm/Shinedown show at Merriweather (thanks to a vendor) and they had a blast, so that is really cool.

I'm falling behind in certain aspects of the job. Trying my damndest to keep up with my case load at the moment. Just say I'm not up to where they expect the trainees to be. None of the trainees are but one (out of 9).

I had to do my first phone interview for CalFresh (Food Stamps) today and according to my trainer, I kicked ass.. But CalFresh is only half the job. *shrugs*

Come in early, stay late, ask a million questions, help in other ways, do everything you can to make it known that you are putting in the effort. Make them know how bad you want the job even if you aren't performing at the level they'd like. A lot of jobs respect effort. Time will help grasp the intricacies, but if you are worried now, you got to wipe that doubt from their minds by going above and beyond in other ways.

Cant come in early or stay late. Gov't job. They get on our asses for touching our desk at 7:59 AM and if you are at your desk at 5:01 PM. And we are to the point where we aren't supposed to ask very many questions anymore. The logic is we have been here long enough that most questions are a result of us not knowing something we've been taught, not remembering the answer to the same question you asked a week ago, or second guessing yourself. I am trying my damnest to only ask questions that I absolutely can't figure out an answer to.

After today, I feel a bit better about the job. I just need to keep up with my CalFresh caseload while catching up with my Medi-Cal cases.

Well this morning ws miserable because we couldn't turn the AC on (tenant downstairs said it was leaking into her place). Turns out it was the water heater, so on the AC went. After the guys came to look at the water heater, the AC simply won't run. Coolest it's been in the office today is 80, which is what it is right now. Boss was on an email tirade earlier today with everyone but seems to have mellowed now. I'm just trying to ride this out til the weekend. I just want to leave.
