Now that the wife works downtown again, we can meet up for lunch now. Checked out a BBQ place in town we hadn't been to yet. She got the pulled chicken quesadilla, we got the BBQ pork nachos, and I got a brisket sandwich. T'was pretty good, several strips of brisket.
Cut along the grain, not across it. So very disappointing. How in God's name do you run a BBQ joint and not know to cut across brisket grain? I'm a complete amateur and I know better than to serve people brisket like that. I asked the waitress if it always comes like that. She wasn't really sure, she basically only serves it. I explained the whole reasoning behind how the meat should be cut (nicely, of course), and that cutting across would make for a much more enjoyable piece of meat for their customers. She said sometimes they have new people in the back, sometimes they get so busy, the dishwasher is even cutting meat. Whatever. It was still GOOD, but I was bummed at something a really pro BBQ joint would never ever do.
