Well Disney is doing this trend of remaking their classic animated movies into live action movies. We've had Alice In Wonderland, Maleficent, and Cinderella. We're about to get Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book, Mulan, Dumbo, and now they are looking at adapting the Night On Bald Mountain sequence from "Fantasia"
Something tells me that it´s the short movies, with Donald Duck in particular, that will become popular again. There are at least 12 movies starting with The Band Concert and ending with Drip, Dippy Donald (the first and the last truly great movie from the old era) that are eternal.
I suspect that they will try to make modern 3-D versions of these shorts and new movies that are similar in the near future.
Chances are that it will not be as great as most people might think though. Sort of like playing the Art of Fugue on distorted guitars.
