Looks metal as hell.

it´s not that metal, though  :lol

It´s less Prog Metal and more Prog Rock, but it´s a really beautiful record. Anneke van Giersbergen, Arjen Lucassen and Marco Minnemann have guest spots on this record.

And now listening:

Grave always deliver. Crushing!  :metal

This album is fantastic. I don't recall this band being discussed much around these parts. A lot of their stuff is great.  For you epic lovers, there's an album not on spotify, but on bandcamp. It's self titled, and the songs are "Side One, Side Two," etc. 4 songs, 15-19 minutes. It is also terrific.

it's a great way to showcase the drum sound by introducing the album with that awesome drumming and sound.

How's this one Brent? I'm not Glenn Hughes' biggest fan...

It's  good Paul .  I am a fan of Hughes only when he isn't giving priority to vocal acrobatics/screaming/being "funky" over singing (not all that often) and here it's pretty much straight ahead hard rock.  90% of the album is good with 2 or 3 very good tracks.  It's the sort of album by him that you might find pretty good.

Might have to wait for payday - it's been an expensive couple of weeks.

Just stumped up for the Joel Hoekstra and it's pretty good. Nice to hear Sir Russell Allen singing.

I was curious about that Joel Hoekstra.  Some of it seemed really good, some seemed subpar.  Haven't listened to the whole thing though

Certainly some tracks which didn't jump out as much as others but nothing that I would call substandard. Most tracks make par, a few birdies and an eagle or two

I liked both the Voodoo Hill and the Joel Hoekstra records, but yeah, it´s mostly because it´s Glenn Hughes/ Russell Allen and Jeff Scott Soto singing, the songwriting itself is pretty ordinary.

Now listening:
