Strangely enough, I wish I could hear that mix again to compare it.  I can't shake the notion that I might have liked the earlier version better since it better represented the actual sound of the show.

Yeah, the old vid is still accessible if you have the link, but you can't search for it on youtube. I still think James sounds better in the old vid, but there's no denying the guitars and keyboards are more balanced in the new vid and there's generally more breathing room. Vocals become a bit too echoey like the Happy Holidays release though. There's clearly no winning this game, haha.

I just listened to both links on headphones and WOW do I stand corrected.  The new version is far more sonically digestible.  The reverb/space in James' vocals from the new video is less noticeable via headphones.

Just pre-ordered the Blu Ray from Amazon, only 15 bucks.  Probably wont get it on release day though, for some reason its estimated to be delivered by Oct 10 which seems too long for it to ship, but I am assuming that is a poor estimate as even with the free shipping, most products if available get to me in 3-5 days at most.

hmm, wonder if they are getting a lot of orders.  This happened once before when trying to pre-order a blu-ray concert (cant remember which) and on release day they sent an email saying it wouldnt ship for a few more days because they were already out of stock, in which case I cancelled and went to Best Buy.

Of course, on a separate purchase, they gave me an ETA of Sept 11th.  I got it on the 9th.

I just went to pre-order the BR/CD set from RoadRunner and it's $50 (without the poster), then add $16 for international shipping, then add surcharge and additional overcharge to go through customs, and I'm looking at maybe $80.  To add insult to injury it's 4-6 weeks for international orders.

Sorry, as much as I want to support DT this is just too much.  I think making this package exclusive through DT.net is a mistake.  So, sadly, I'm just going to get the BR from my local store on release day for $22 and then just rip the audio and make my own CDs and MP3s.

Well, buying the Blu Ray is still supporting the band, but yeah I can see how that price is discouraging to international folks.

While I am not international, I agree with you that the prices on the website compared to say Amazon are a joke.  I got the Blu-ray for 15 dollars and I will be ripping the audio as well for my phone.  CDs are kind of worthless to me.

I'm thinking about purchasing the bluray only addition. Remember wanting to get the Luna Park blurry but never did and now I'm glad I didn't since it doesn't seem to be that well received. Wonder if I should wait to pick up the new one until the reviews are out. Funds are a little tight right now. Any news on what the special features might be? I see the main show is around 2 hours.

The main show is 2:45. Also Luna Park is awesome, there's just some flaws with the production in many people's opinions. I agree with some of them, but it doesn't ruin the whole thing at all. It's a great package.

that was awesome! it's nice to hear the strings... the whole concert was definitely too loud when I was there, it's gonna be great to actually be able to hear what's going on!
