Here we go, folks! Transatlantic's third album, featuring the main album's single song epic, "The Whirlwind", as well as four originals found on the second disc. These rounds will still be TWO-DAY ROUNDS, just to make sure everyone gets their votes in. Thus, this will make this survivor last about a month long! Whew...well, the up side is that this will allow everyone to digest Kaleidoscope in time for its survivor in March!

Interesting decision to include the bonus tracks. I voted for Lending a Hand - it's ok but by far my least favourite.

I was half-expecting/hoping that I'd open the thread and it would just say WINNER - The Whirlwind.

Ariich is a freak, or somehow has more hours in the day than everyone else.

I love NM's solo work, and I like For Such A Time as a song.   However, since the melody in the verse is the same as Whirlwind, I voted out FSAT.

For Such A Time.

I'll be shocked if any of the non-Whirlwind songs make it to Round 5.

EDIT: Sorry. My mistake.

There are no cover songs in this round, are there?

No, there are none. These are all originals. Only the last four tracks (barring the hidden track tacked on to the final track) are covers on the 2nd disc of The Whirlwind. The first four are originals penned by the band itself.

Yes, that and RCG...who voted for them? Troll voters, or just people afraid to reveal their identity for voting for songs that are seemingly two of the most popular from this album?

IMO, there are 3 distinct climatic points of The Whirlwind main disc.  For me they are RCG, IIRH, and the Whirlwind Reprise.  I would be surprised if RCG & IIRH don't make it to the top 5.

I admit it: I was the one who voted for IIRH. Now that I see how popular it is, I'm stuck with the decision of "Do I vote for it every round, knowing that it will continue, or do I redirect my efforts toward something that might actually lose?"

Why is it your least favorite? I'm curious.

I think A Man Can Feel and Rose Covered Glasses are both better.  On the Prowl might be, as well.

Anyway, this round was easy.  For Such a Time is the only one of these 16 that I don't listen to a lot.

I don't like Rose Colored Glasses that much...  A Man Can Feel comes close to trumphing IIRH, but nah.

Still shocked by the IIRH vote. Honestly, that might be one of the best songs ever recorded.

Really? I don't know, the melodies aren't particularly pleasant, and I really just wait for it to end.

This by a large margin.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.
