Well, that's nice of him! I wonder if the DT boys like or listen to Kamelot or Seventh Wonder!

Speaking of Kamelot, I saw Silverthorn (regular and deluxe edition) in the terribly poor bookshop/record store at the local mall. I was shocked, I wasn't expecting it! I briefly even considered purchasing it, but this is not the best period for follies.

I have teh awesome deluxe edition  the poster is awful though. I mean, not the quality of the poster, but the picture.

But yeah, I'm not sure whether I'll be getting any CDs at all during this time period. Fall concerts, long distance relationship, school books to buy... :-X

I think I will also be spending very little on non-music hardware for a while, as I realised that if I basically stop buying music and eat a lot of lentils for the next six/eight months, I can get an some shiny things, as well as get my friend in Changzhou some nice things, and maybe in the summer or whenever go on holiday with her.

Ok, I might postpone the getting of a fretless five string, but I do want a hifi amp and a nice keyboard...

Yeah, if I live on ramen and don't purchase any more tickets for shows (apart from DT whenever that is), I might be able to move out soon! So I fully support you guys in your no-spending endeavors.

I'm on a no-spending endeavour now. I've bought an electric piano/keyboard a few weeks ago, then discovered that I owed one of my roommates 150 euros for the electrics (is that the right word for that?), had to pay for my piano lessons and discovered that I had no more money left  :lol Tomorrow I'm gonna buy me some epic food, 'cause I still have some empty beer crates I can hand in for deposit money!  :metal

It's called "Déjà Vu a Tribute to Dream Theater". I wanted to like it, but I couldn't. :lol

Holy god, this version of Under a Glass Moon is hilariously bad.

EDIT:   :lol :lol  Everyone on this board needs to listen to this recording right now.  There's no keyboardist, the vocalist is ridiculous, and the guitarist isn't even playing the guitar solo and is just playing rhythm over the instrumental section.

Looking it up now.

I'm sure they're trying, and I applaud their effort (hell, I couldn't come CLOSE to what they're doing :lol) but I mean... there are some bands that are better left uncovered.

Sounds like Dominici trying to cover JLB, How can you listen to this and think.. You know what? good enough to me, LETS RELEASE IT!

Edit: LTL time! WERE THESE DRUMS RECORDED IN A BATHROOM? I Know the Images and Words snare sound was bad but come on!

Also I was incredibly surprised when these vocals came in!! also the octave leaps :lol  EVERYONE LISTEN TO THIS!!! IT'S LIKE SOUTH PARK COVERED IT!

There was a very good bit though, The F# part was actually really good

Listening to LTL.  It's actually not so bad.  Garage-band quality recording, but the garage band in question isn't horrible.  The Under a Glass Moon cover is the really questionable one.

The jewel case. I don't have the equipment for the vinyl or the 5.1 mix, and the super-deluxe-special-extra-hyper-set was too expensive for me :)

Ah okay. I'll probably be picking that one up too. Shame about it not including HDTracks though.

As I said in the pic thread I started I got the CD+DVD edition because I had no choice :lol However, the price was the same as the one for the standard edition would've been in the record store I usually visit so I can't complain.

Hold on, what's Changzhou? The Chinese equivalent of the Dukedom of Anjou?

It's a city in China, in Jiangsu province, which is near Shanghai. It also happens to be where a friend of mine lives, with whom I am quite close.

There's also an epic dude of an artist who lives there too, by the name of Hong Lei, his stuff looks kinda very Lasse Hoile-esque in a strange sort of way, but more chinese.
