Hey Kev, Bosk closed the last thread because of gifs like that. Maybe we should keep this a little less NSFW

Gotcha.  My bad.

Sometimes I love being a mod.

Great GIF, Kev!

Are you sure?   I've seen weirder optical illusions.    And (as an example) a bike wheel can appear to go in both directions if you look at the spokes just right.

I just figured it was an optical illusion based on where the red car ends up on the next frame.

I noticed it, but someone else who posted it said if you slow it down, you see the gif just reverse.

Am I missing something with the spinning shaded barbie?

I don't recall the details....but certain people see her either rotating right, or rotating left. I think it has something to do with left brain/right brain stuff.

For the record.....she looks like she's rotating left to me. I have seen her one time and it looked like she was rotating right, but the last dozen times or so I've seen that she's been going left and I cannot 'make' her rotate right no matter how hard I try.

Yes....and if you concentrate on it hard enough, you CAN make her go the other way.

Initially, I always see her going right to left, but if I concentrate on it, she does change directions.

That's wild since I can only see her going right.

In before Chad's  (jingle.boy) customary reference to this wide open double entendre.

I can see her spinning in either direction.  I can change the direction she appears to be spinning at will.  Or I can look through the illusion and see that she isn't actually spinning at all.

I'd like to think that makes me intelligent or something, but actually it's just that I've spent a lot of time staring at that GIF.
Sincerely,
Jaffa

I can make the spinning gif switch between counter-clockwise and clockwise by simply staring at the image and slightly crossing my gaze as if to be focusing in front of the image. She immediately starts spinning the opposite direction. Weird.

For me, she kept going left for ages and it was really pissing me off that I couldn't get her to change direction. Then somehow I finally did it and then I couldn't get her to change back! Argh!

I tried looking through the illusion like you did and she's still stuck going right. I hate life right now! :lol
