Has anyone heard anything about what they'll be playing for the tour?  I know the first show was last night.

EDIT: According to facebook fans they played for 2.5 hours.  :o  March 24th can't get here soon enough.
I'm not able to come to that show... Have fun dude.  :)

Awwwww.  :(

EDIT: Drew, you'd best get dat setlist or at least write it down.

The setlist from the first night was epic.

Like... seriously, seriously epic.  Not counting the TCS show, it was without a doubt the best setlist they've played since the 2008 holiday shows.

Hopefully I'll get to meet Casey.

If you've got time, try getting there early and doing it before the show.  He's usually hanging around somewhere outside or near the venue or something.  A lot of times the band goes to eat before the show.  When the show is done, he'll almost certainly hang out with the crowd and talk to people for a while, and you'll still be able to meet him and chat with him, but I find that post-show he's always super mobbed and everybody will be trying to get his attention.  If you catch him pre-show you can usually get a bit more of his time.  At various points pre-show I've seen him hanging out in the bar next-door, eating a nearby restaurant, hanging out on the sidewalk in front of the venue, sitting in the back of his van playing his acoustic guitar sitting in the crowd watching the opener and sometimes just hanging out at the merch table.  If the venue has a parking lot that's an especially good place to keep an eye on.  Just look for the band's van.  It's a giant white 15-passenger van (probably CA plates, but I'm not sure), and most likely it'll have a small trailer attached.  Van basically looks exactly like this - https://yourtrinity-backup.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/15_Passenger_Van.std_.jpg  [/superstalkermode]

Thanks man, I appreciate it! To be honest, I don't really need to have a conversation with him or anything. Just a simple handshake, "nice to meet you" will suffice.

I'm not sure, but I don't think so.  I think some nights they get hotels, some nights some of them sleep in the van while others drive through the night, and some nights they sleep at friends places.  One of my friends in California is letting them stay for a couple of nights on this tour.  I know a few years ago they used to frequently crash at houses of pretty much anybody who would put them up.  Apparently in the really early days they actually used to frequently just ask fans at the shows if anybody had a place where they could stay, and they would just go to "whoever seemed the least creepy".

They were a lot of fun! Probably one of the best openers I've ever seen. Also, their singer jumped onstage during Misplaced Devotion and sang the second verse with Casey.

Yup.  He's the guy who sings on the album version.

Fun fact - he's also that guy who designed all the artwork for TCS

So I've seen that a couple of you have received your copies of One Night Only, The Dear Hunter presents: The Color Spectrum Live. Are there enough of us out there that we're ready to launch a full blown discussion? Shall me make a new thread entirely? I've watched it a couple of times now and I'm just itching!

Gahhh....

So... much... temptation.

Btw... if Azia is on those tracks, I think that now means every single member of his immediate family has appeared on at least one recording.  Maybe they really should just change the name to "The Crescenzo Family Band"

So the set was the same as the one posted except Casey played Tripping in Triplets and Things That Hide Away by himself before the last part of the show.  It was such a great show.  It seemed that aside from a few Acts songs, the fans were more involved in the Color Spectrum stuff than anything else.

On Violet now, and gotta say, impressed with Casey and his voice. I mean seeing him perform strongly through an opening set is one thing, but at the end of this he's still got his full purity and strength in his voice.

Oh no, he did!  Forgot to mention that.  I had forgotten he was on the album version, to be honest.

Both times I've seen them headline this is what surprised me most.  And he still does a lot of really high stuff that isn't on the album version that sounds great.  Not many people have that stamina and control for a live set like that.

Seriously.  And you could tell he was physically exhausted by the end.  You can kind of hear it a little bit when he speaks to the crowd before starting White.

But tbh, what really blew me away most about this show was seeing Casey shred... especially during Black, Red and Orange.  I don't know if I've ever seen him solo that much.
