There is no objective in art.
Who says so?
Anything that is meant to have an effect on people is going to be subjective, because people are effected differently by things.  Do you disagree with that?

By that logic, everything is subjective.
"All great works are prepared in the desert, including the redemption of the world. The precursors, the followers, the Master Himself, all obeyed or have to obey one and the same law. Prophets, apostles, preachers, martyrs, pioneers of knowledge, inspired artists in every art, ordinary men and the Man-God, all pay tribute to loneliness, to the life of silence, to the night." - A. Ugh, I'm finding it really hard to motivate myself to do this damn study guide for botany. I hate this class so much, but I need to keep at least a B in the class.

Art is only meaningful because of what the artist puts into it and what the observer takes out of it. Without people to interpret and define art for themselves, art holds no more significance than what it is physically; a combination of elements.

Without humanity, what is there to decide that "combination of soundwaves a" is better than "combination of soundwaves b"?

Maybe I boiled it down too far, but hopefully that makes sense.

It's like, what is a better book, Lord of the Rings or Hop on Pop?

Alright, let's give this a shot. So The Lord of the Rings is the better book? Why?

Guys, guys, guys.  We all know the answer.  Pull out you manhood and throe it on the table.  That's the best way to compare.  Oh...what.....it's guitarists?............It's the same.

Guys, guys, this is the same person who gave us this gem:

I hear you.   I guess I just don't get.  Everyone is hearing the same song, and assuming everyone's ears are working properly, I don't see how we come to such different conclusions unless there is some type of phycological trickery involved, such as the mental "I-like-Awake-because-it's-different" thing that has arisen for whatever reason.

Bolded part shows why he doesn't understand.
"Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armour yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you." ~ Tyrion Lannister

??? Why have so many people made fun of that post? It's a good point!

Hey man: we are all reading the same post, and assuming everyone's brains are working properly, I don't see how you come to such a different (positive) conclusion unless there is some type of psychological trickery involved...

The best and only proven way of doing this is by setting John Petrucci as the standard, and working out other guitarists as how many standard deviations of talent they are under him   ;D

Yes, the only way  ;)

If we were all the exact same person with the same backgrounds and the same thoughts, that would be an excellent point.
