After repeated listenings, I believe I like Atlas Stone better than any other song on Visions but the title track. I think :D

I don't think it's their best song yet, but it's still stellar. The epic guitar solo after the second chorus is AWESOME.

Well.. It's better than Premonitions, and Portals. The rest of the songs on Visions are better and all the songs on Aquarius.

I definitely prefer it to the first 3 songs on Aquarius, and I think it's probably better than Eternal Rain as well.

Hard to say with the songs on Visions. Definitely better than Premonitions and Mind's Eye, not sure about the rest.

Premonition is one of my favourites prologue to an album.

It's alright, but honestly I find it their least good song, including the demo. I do enjoy it a lot more in the context of the suite though.

Mind's Eye is great. On your first listen, it fools you into thinking that it was a simple pop song only to blow your mind as it segues into Portals and shows it's true face as an opener to an epic suite :metal

I'm gonna have to agree that TME is awesome. Better than Insomnia imo.

I agree with this, sometimes. I think what makes The Mind's Eye so strong is the chorus, at least for me. It's epic. The verses in Insomnia are better and the song is longer so it has that going for it. But I think I'd prefer The Mind's Eye most of the time.

EDIT: Oh, and could someone post the lyrics to Atlas Stone? I can make out some things but not the entire thing. So if it's not too much trouble, I'd appriciate it  :)

Agreed there, TME's chorus is what makes it great.

They're coming along, pretty much finished the guitar parts. I've been busy this week, had less time to work on them than I previously expected.

You may have seen that I already commented on how they're using DT's definition of the word "soon". :lol

If this turns out to be the same "soon", we will need an InsideOut emoticon. :lol

Excited for the second song! I've been listening to Atlas Stone and the two JLB tracks quite a bit.

Does anyone else get a very strong Spock's Beard vibe from 4:45-5:19 of Atlas Stone? I do.

Not very strong but there's definitely some Spock Beard in there.

Only 3 days till the new song comes out!!!!!

Here's a text I got from my brother (the original keyboardist, for those who don't already know) last week in relation to Atlas Stone and the next one:

"Song is awesome. And the one coming out next week sounds pretty full on from the preview Ray showed me last night!"

Can you elaborate what "full on" means in your brother's vocabulary.

Well, it's definitely a positive, but it could mean a few different things. It might mean heavy, it might mean really crazy and f-ed up, or it might just mean very intense. Either way, he liked what he heard!

Great. When I read the title As Death embraces, I was certain this was going to be the album's "girlfriend-friendly power ballad" akin to Sun and Deathless. Glad to see that Haken can still defy my expectations :metal
