Maiden. A couple of poor songs but a couple of tracks apart Signals isn't a great Rush album.

Maiden. Signals isn't one of my favorite Rush albums, NOTB is a classic. There you go.

Though I love Signals, I have always felt that Number of the Beast is arguably one of the best metal albums ever. :birch:

Subdivisions is my favorite Rush song and one of my favorite songs periods.  However, as a whole, NOTB is a better record and gets my vote

Time for Maiden to win a couple of years.  ;D

This one's kinda close, though, I like these two albums almost equally. But still Maiden.

Maiden and Rush out of all that great music?  That's what we end up with?   :P

I can't even vote for this because I've never listened to either album.

How can you compare it if you've never listened to either album? :p

Also, go out and get The Number of the Beast right now :)

I can't so that's why I'm not voting.

The Number of the Beast?  The title itself just turns me off, dude.

I meant compare to other music from the year. Also, don't let the title put you off listening to it, album titles never really intend to describe the music :)

Music is subjective, everybody has different opinions.  I myself have never listened to "Thriller" and never will.  However, I know people enjoy that album and if they think it's better then Rush (and they've actually listened to Rush), all the power to them.  But I will never come out and say that they are wrong for liking something that's different from what I like.

Rush was unable to complete the three-peat, losing to Iron Maiden.

Winners thus far:

1980: Rush - Permanent Waves
1981: Rush - Moving Pictures
1982: Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast
