It's better than the "forevermore" in TBOT.

I still don't understand what is so bad about Constant Motion's lyrics. I think the "Forever more..." part is cool.
Yeah, I think they're lovely. They're not hugely deep, but deep'd be incredibly out of place in this song. They're well-written, and match the pace perfectly. A little more creative than, say, Panic Attack's account of panic attacks.

I have a close friend who is a DT fan and gets regular panic attacks, and she swears that Panic Attack's lyrics are amazingly accurate.

I will say that "FOREVERMORE, INTO THE NIGHT, BLISTERING" was fun as hell to sing along to live with everyone, even though I was having trouble not laughing.

I think they're great. Hating the "Forever more" line is completely understandable, as that one is cheesy metal, although it fits regardless but I actually really like the rest of the lyrics though. They're not on a cheesy topic, and they're not so story based.

Is there any indication that you'll be able to get this WITHOUT preordering the game, legally?

They should let us download the EP separately. If not, then that's friggin stupid! (Because I know I'll buy the whole game if I have to. I don't even own an Xbox.)  >:(
I don't think they will, they're only using it for having a few more people buy the game.

Oh yeah, I get enough of the little fellas, they're accurate for sure. But not hugely creative! They do the job and then get the hell out.

Aye, for sure. Very frantic, almost claustrophobic.

Dream Theater:  Accurately describing medical conditions since 2005.

4) sensations of shortness of breath or smothering
5) feeling of choking
6) chest pain or discomfort
7) nausea or abdominal distress
8) feeling dizzy, unsteady, lightheaded, or faint
9) derealization (feelings of unreality) or depersonalization (being detached from oneself)
10) fear of losing control or going crazy
11) fear of dying
12) paresthesias (numbness or tingling sensations)
13) chills or hot flushes

Now you could probably guess all of those, but they did get it pretty much perfectly.

Can't wait for this, but I am incredibly disappointed that it is a digital release.

I can't wait till about 2021, when they've run out of the interesting medical conditions and have to start on the really mundane.

"Gods of War."

They're so cute when they get the title wrong, but it doesn't matter.  The end result will be awesome.

AcidLameLTE

They've been getting the title wrong since they first announced it in November :lol

DT doing an instrumental for this?

Nice!

I really hope DT releases this separately, as I don't really feel like buying the whole album, now that I think about it...

The original press release says it's "digital," so it it's on iTunes I guess that'll be "seperate."

Why does the world expect me to use iTunes and otherwise surrender my soul to Apple?  :(

Why is everyone worrying about it not getting released seperately?
It's going to end up online and then you could easily record/download from there

You're implying too much.

Anything DT, besides a few bootlegs, is owned and bought legally in hard copy as cds and dvds.

I like to support my favorite bands too, but I doubt they are going to get a substantial amount of money from one song in a game. Plus cds isn't really where they make their cash, its mostly from touring.

ariich

Yes but their ability to tour depends on label support which depends on CD sales.

And suffice to say, any discussion of where to obtain or hear the song illegally is absolutely off-limits here.

I didn't say how to download it... :xbones

But yeah I doubt that if the sales of this one time soundtrack plummet, Roadrunner will cut touring for all the bands involved...

Alcoholism maybe.....might be a couple songs about that in their catalogue somewhere.

I think most people here are annoyed at an all digital release because they're colloctors. Yes there is the "its only ripped VBR" or....I have to pay the Apple Nazis for it angles but I think for the most part it's not having the physical media in hand.

That's me.  But it's just music for hire, so I don't care that much.

Music for hire or not, they're writing new material.

robwebster

They wouldn't have gone to the trouble of getting Dream Theater to contribute a track if they didn't want a Dream Theater song - they won't have hired them just to act as session musicians. Maybe the tone'll be set by the game, but the song's gonna be a slice of pure Dream Theater.

What about Voices?  JP said he was reading medical journals to make sure he got everything right in that song!  It proved that there was no intentional faith-based conflict and its basically a better version of Panic Attack's lyrics with a different malady.
