Quote from: Skeever on March 24, 2025, 02:46:07 PMAfter looking at the shirt, I think you're right. The next leg of European dates are definitely being billed as part of the anniversary tour. I guess I just find it hard to believe how hard they are still working as a band, LOL!

The setlist is great but argh! I'd prefer not to see it again in July. Oh, well. The setting will more than make up for it!

MP will change it up a bit I'm sure.

Be lovely if he did. But, you know, it'll still be incredible to see them in such an amazing setting. Only three and a half months. Never been to Sicily before! Properly excited.

One of the few times I disagree with you Stads. Of course, EVENING WITHs RULE, but they WILL NOT be able to just continually do those. I know 100 mins of DT is kind of a tease, but if I can get 2 really good prog bands with 100 min DT set every 2-3 yrs, I'm good with that.

Agreed, I mean, we got the most uncertainty in years out of a pretty static anniversary set. Love the variety more than what I missed out on, hoping they mix it up even more for the next leg (but get those live recordings released too don't wait for the tour to end)

I guess it all depends on who the other bands are; when they open - Maiden, Yes, Purple - I'm in.  When it's the packages and it's the 'latest wave' of prog-rock bands - Animals As Leaders, etc. - I'm showing up for the headliner and that makes it not really worth it to me unless there's a decent meet up before hand.

Yeah, I'm good with a Dreamsonic like tour thrown in after a few rounds of evening withs.

The only thing I really liked about Dreamsonic was DT. I was interested in seeing Devin Townsend, and he put on a great show. But I can't get into his music. And AaL. Not my cup of tea. It would be ok, if we had bands playing that I enjoy. Opeth, Symphony X, Fates Warning, Megadeth, Circus Maximus, to name a few.

This is how I feel too.  Unless I got lucky and really like the other bands, I suppose.  Most of the package tours have been fine, but I'd much rather just see Dream Theater.

I noticed Mike Portnoy returned to twitter... he posted about RCMH and someone followed up asking if some of the show would end up on the upcoming blu-ray and MP responded that he's "looking into it"

I didn't notice any cameras at RCMH, but there could have been as the place is big and I was just in one spot. It would be a shame if that TBoT performance didn't make it onto a proper release.

I'm pretty sure MP posted on his instagram yesterday that twitter account is not his, and he has not returned to X (twitter)
