Maybe after the tour they will sell what's left over.

I imagine you'll be able to once the tour is over.

At the stop we attended, given bathroom breaks and after show activities, we didn't have time to hit the merch table.  I figured, no big deal, we'll just order some stuff from the website.  Nope!

Time was an issue for me, too. I got in line for merch at 6:45 and made it to my seat as the intro tape was playing.
Tower of ivory, house of gold? How could a woman be a tower of ivory or a house of gold?

cramx3

Yeah, the merch line is either dedication for getting there early enough to wait the line or missing some of the show to hit it up while there is little to no line.  Typically, I'll sneak out to get merch during a song I've either seen before or am least interested in.  I am almost never waiting in those massive merch lines.  In Philly, just getting a visual of the merch was difficult based on the placement and the line.

In the end, it's good thing for the band to have so many people buying merch. I have no expectations of getting anything at RCMH, I feel that merch situation will be a disaster.

I don't want to count chickens, but Wallingford has that big open area. I'm hoping that the Merch will at least be visible, so I can plot what I want before the show, then if need be, run out during the shitty Mangini songs to get what I want.

Yeah, you might have luck because of how open that space is.

RCMH I believe will have the merch in the basement and the line will go up the stairs into the main lobby making the place feel very cramped. (I feel like that was the case for Porcupine Tree, the last time I was at that venue).

"This is the Life"? More like "This is the Time to Buy Merch", am I right?  :lol

Well, that's the joke; "This Is The Life" is the one song I want to see MOST. It's by far my favorite song from the Mangini era, and a top five song overall for me.  I'd go just for that song (though I like Barstool Warrior too).

I've noticed, which is why the thought of you stepping out during that song is so hilarious.

During the astonishing tour, it wasn't too bad. It's pretty out in the open as far as I remember.... The line for the men's room, however, is a different story ha ha. If you are a lady or bring one, the line for the bathroom will be the best you've ever experienced in your life.

I don't remember the Astonishing show being nearly as packed as this time is going to be. Plus I think people want merch moreso than TA tour (just a hunch).

You're gonna love it, my dude.  I thought it was one of the highlights of the show.

I'm good with TitL, and it works great live. Barstool Warrior, on the other hand, was a massive letdown. That's when I'd run to grab a shirt.

Sadly that's when most will as well from my experience  :lol  Barstool was definitely one of the least favorite parts of the night.  I quite enjoy TitL myself and I wouldn't be shocked if RCMH is the last time it gets played live. (along with Barstool)

I think we'll both be at the RCMH show? If so, I'll try to find and film you crying during the song. Ransom babyyyyy.

Odds are high.  For Marillion when they did "Neverland" I was with a guy that posted over at MP.com and his relatively new - at the time - girlfriend. I got up and watched the song from the aisle on the side because I knew, I knew, odds were high.  :)

Just so you can get your light meter set and your film fresh, it's the last go round of the chorus (after the solo) and the "What will they say, after you're gone" part.

Of course, the best part

Same, I went to the merch table twice and it was packed. Ultimately I didn't want to miss the show to buy a shirt.

Fantastic show last night! I was surprised at how good of a seat I had, certainly much closer to the stage than I was in 2010 and 2011. Highland, CA is definitely a B-tier market, so the theater itself was a little smaller and more intimate than the places I have seen them before as well.

The theater is inside a giant casino, so the crowd heavily comprised of the middle-aged set and grey-haired couples who were there to enjoy some quality live entertainment, regardless of how well they knew the catalog. I could see a few folks who looked closer to my age, though unlike the other times I'd seen DT, I didn't spot a single child or teenager when I was making my way to my seat. It's possible they could have been more concentrated in the upper levels, but being 33 and feeling like I was among the youngest people who were there had me feeling a little bit let down (at my peer group, not at DT). Oh well.

James sounded great, though I suspect "Home" was cut from the encore in order to spare his voice. I'm seeing them again at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood on the 22nd, and I'm positive they will swap out three of the songs, with "Home" hopefully being re-instated for the encore that night too.

A shot of the boys taking their well-deserved bow:

I was starting to think I was the only one here!  I'll probably be at the Century Bar & Grill in the Hollywood Park Casino from 5ish until whether doors open if you or anyone else wants to have an informal DTF get-together.

This is what I'm thinking. Then again I'll probably stay the night in New York so won't be in a rush to get out of there unless that's out of towners are going to plan some kind of after party.

Geez how many of us are going to RCMH? Wallingford I'll be with my wife and respecting my wifes privacy since she likes to kinda be in our own world, NYC I'd be happy to meet some of you fools, and take crying pictures lol. Hint, I'll be 4 rows from the front at the beautiful RCMH... so chances are during the JP hollow year solo this will be me 😭

Progmaniac1988

Honestly there's no song in this setlist I'll be willing to miss... so I'll be trying to get to Toyota Oakdale early to get my shirt. Hopefully that big dome will help with the lines like was suggested earlier on the thread.

Radio City I'll pass on the merch line unless for some reason I luck out on merch at the Oakdale.

What!?  Your wife doesn't want to meet a bunch of old men you met on the internet? She's not up for flipping the bird in a picture with us???

(I'm kidding of course. I'm married too, and total respect.)

Hahaha yeahhh, she don't even like seeing people we both know in our lives lately (neither do I most the time 😂) so don't take it personal lol. Introverts most occasions!

It'll be fun at NYC tho I'm sure. It'll be cool meeting some of the forum peoples.

This is absolutely me. But I dunno, I can't go all the way to New York and turn down the opportunity to say hello to fellow forumers.

Yeah, NYC I'll definitely stop by the pre show. That show I'm going solo, and would be happy to meet some of the forumers for sure. I'll probably bump into people I haven't seen in over 10 years at the show as well lol

For all the RCMH folks who may have missed, there is a thread for the epic DTF meet up https://www.dreamtheaterforums.org/boards/index.php/topic,59309.0.html

Going to be awesome to see so many new and familiar faces.  I think I'm looking forward to the meet up more so than the concert!
