Sure but they've kind of brought it on themselves. It doesn't stop me thinking the artwork (both for the album and the single) looks great, but I do find it funny how quickly and easily people can find the stock images Syme uses. And it's still all irrelevant to the question of whether the music is good.

It's a shame if it ruins the joy of a new release for you, but for me it makes no difference and if anything I find it fairly entertaining.

I honestly could care less.  Get me the music.

this is a guess on my part.  John loves Rush, he's modeled the live show like Rush would with the visuals so they need a more structured setlist and he likes Syme's work.

I guess, for me, it's like, if Dream Theater were to release an album of mashups, I'd be disappointed. Same thing with the artwork. There's so much talent out there for DT to tap into.

Don't understand complaints about the concept of using stock images. Is the artwork good? That is really what matters and I don't see why it has to be original set pieces to be good.

That guy is an artist as much as a DJ is an artist, I can't believe he's getting paid to do this.. How many people here CAN'T do this?
I suspect DT themselves are not aware at all of this, cause I really doubt they know and just don't care like that. A shit ton of their fans could have done an original job, hell they could have commissioned fuckin blob and he would came up with something original and more attached to the music of the album.

I guess this is another case where I do like the album art, but am a little let down by the fact it's just another reworked image from the internet and not an original piece of art all around.  I do like all the art I've seen, but just knowing how easy it was and how common it is used is kind of a let down.  I would love for the music which is so artistic and original to have the images associated with it also be artistic and original.  There's just so much missed potential especially because I really dig the ideas behind these artworks.

Is originality not a factor here at all? Is it no longer part of the package of what makes something great?
