DT fans are super spoiled if this is what they actually have to complain about, their favourite band doing a second set where they play their best ever album in addition to a full concert of other stuff.

Are they playing Train of Thought?... ::)

:lol I saw the show a year ago, 3 times, when they played their best ever album.  But honestly, as someone who would rather see a portion of SFAM and have more setlist variety, it is only my personal choice and not something I am actually complaining about.  I will gladly enjoy seeing SFAM in full twice next year.

Oh really, I must have missed their announcement that they were doing a tour playing SDOIT in its entirety!  darnit!

Can I just nip something in the bud right here and right now? Can we all agree to not abbreviate the album D/T?

I dunno... Rush used p/g for Grace Under Pressure!

So livenation really is getting lazy with these presale codes.  Dream Theater, Ozzy, and now Iron Maiden all used MIXTAPE as their livenation presale code  :lol

TheRich13

Anyone have any info as to why some dates did not list the shows with SFAM ..when I got my tix for Orlando it just said DOT TOUR on Ticketmaster, when most of the other dates said DOT Tour and SFAM
anniversary...
Am I not gonna get SFAM in Orlando?

I don't think there is any real need for them to be unique, is there?

TheRich13

I tried MIXTAPE when I got tix and it didn't accept it...then i typed in Distance and it said you've unlocked the code and I was able to purchase my tix

Good article, I was hoping they'd keep going with track analysis.

Yup, interesting titles.

Yeah, there is one track title in particular that I was looking for to see if they would reveal it.

Me too!! Or even the track list at the end :rollin

But it was a good article indeed

And it seems like we can really expect for a mostly heavy album.

So a bear just walked up to the studio? I guess that bear got the lucky chance to see one of their own kind.  :lol

So I had not even looked at tickets for Philly when they went on sale and just randomly hopped on today and looked. Was surprised to see 14th row, dead center on an aisle available for $60 ($75 after fees). So now I'm ready for the tour. :D

First, I just want to say... HYYYYPEEEE  :metal :metal :metal :metal

The article/interview was really nice. Love that we have 4 official track titles, but we need more!

To me it sounds like Barstool Warrior is that melodic prog track that was teased during the first video of the drum tracking, I could be totally wrong, though  :lol

He said they wanted to make a shorter/concise album, so I guess it's going to be similar to DT12's lenght, around 70/60ish minutes long.

at one point I remember saying, "We could just sit here and do this for another few months and probably write the next five Dream Theater albums." Because the music was just pouring out.

When we were first starting out the scene didn't really exist. There was a few bands, like our buddies Fates Warning. And Queensrÿche was kind of in that zone, but not really.

Hopefully he meant shorter/concise songs, and a lot of them, so something like Awake and FII with 11 songs and ~78 minutes.

Also Barstool Warrior's story sounds perfect for the teaser lyrics "Don't be afraid of letting go, open your heart be set free", but the sound is completely off.
