I have seen some crazy analyses of many different things in my two plus years on these forums, but this is by far the most batshit insane I have ever seen. You guys are breaking down every single thing that bosk says and trying to figure out something from nothing. This is why I love these forums. I'm serious. You guys are amazing.

Okay, let's go through everything we have:

Bosk was listening to the song at 9:58 (in my timezone at least).
Later on, Bosk said he was listening to Epica at 10:23

Bosk changed the order of tracks on the album & has done so for a very long time

He told us to forget about the 25 minute thing.. And, also, when did he say that he changes the order of tracks?..

Quote from: bosk1 on January 20, 2017, 12:05:50 PM
:rollin  I've been listening to this album this way for so long that I forgot that I had revised the track list/order.  Oops.

I'm assuming this is why he said to forget about the 25 minute thing later on, because I don't seem to see any other reason why he would make that point.

Either way, the only song that changes is Forsaken, which I'm pretty sure doesn't apply as a monster track either.

1. Endless Sacrifice
2. The Dark Eternal Night

So unless there's some hints I'm missing, these are the two songs it's narrowed down to. I don't know if bosk has said outright that he uses a different ordering for TOT. It did seem like he thought it WAS on the last 25 minutes of the album, so it's definitely possible, but I right now I can't find any proof of it.

Pretty much with you, although Panic Attack has to be an outside shot if he has very few DT albums on his computer.  Personally, I'd put my odds at ES: 54%, TDEN: 44%, PA: 2%

Jinx

The fact that bosk has come on and stated his shifting of the SC running order pretty much seals the deal for TDEN

That, & how bosk said he didn't like ES that much. I'd say it's an 80/20 probability between TDEN & ES.

Tomislav95

Is TDEN really a crowd pleaser? It wouldn't please me at all :lol
But I can see it being fun live since it's bombastic and heavy.

The search for the nugget in In the Name of God wasn't so intense.

Mladen

I'm having a hard time following this thread, but it has pretty much turned into a every-day dissection of Bosk's words, right? So what do we know so far?  :lol

IDontNotDoThings

It's probably TDEN, but there's a slight possibility it could be ES.

Either way if they play it the way they have been more recently the first song will feature the Zen Riffer  :metal

Medley confirmed: The Dark Eternal Sacrifice

I cant wait for the first show so we can put this whole ordeal to bed. Also cant wait for the clips to go up on the 'Tube!

I hope they play both songs though, love em both and was gutted to miss ES in 2011.

Jeez, I saw this thread was up to 32 pages and thought there was an update worth reading

TDEN is one of the worse songs they ever did, so if that one is confirmed - I am asking you bosk1 - please tell me so I can get some nice street food with my wife as the concert starts and everyone else rushes inside the theater. In fact, I have a ticket for the 30th and I don't like to go to concerts with not full (or almost) setlist in advance.  If I have to face a bad start like this it would be even worse. Not that eg ES is a masterpeice, but at least I don't find it really bad.
Another question, can you confirm no song from WDADU would be in the setlist? So BC&SL wouldn't be the only ugly duckling this time... and of course there would be more, but let's skip another one 9 days to the opening show....
Another thing: I was wondering if anyone is interested in an "almost" live update on the setlist played on the 30th... I was thinking I could do that...

Jinx

Dude  ???

You are just slightly overreacting. All the vids Ive seen (as well as LALP and CIM DVDs) show that TDEN slays live.

And DT rarely if ever release the setlists before concerts - bar The Astonishing of course. So why would you book tix for opening night knowing that?

I say go to the show, see the whole thing and update us with a review the following days. And have fun!  ;D  :metal

Setlist Scotty

Frankly I'm not a big fan of TDEN, but I'd find it an interesting choice for show opener. I'll be curious to see if that's what they go with or something else.
Quote from: BlobVanDam on November 13, 2015, 07:37:14 PMAs a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

I would be interested since we want to do a live tweet with  the setlist at the French fan club.
I remember our live tweet session for the first concert of Along for the Ride tour and how we were excited as hell when we saw that the second set was leading to space dye vest.

If all else fails, we can always go back to the second JP solo album.

Why don't you just not go? You can avoid the problem altogether

Octavarious

I live in Rome so that's my chance to see them without travelling (like I did in 2016).
So I will definitely go - and for the 1st time with my wife...
Imagine DT opening the set with one of your least favourites: wouldn't you prefer something else?
Just this...
What histerical reactions anyway... Freedom of speech is over?

I would prefer too, since I totally and completely dislike The Dark Eternal Night, but let's be real: it's either the opening song or it's not. Nothing we do or say can change that. Do like me, go there resigned to the fact that it's the opening song, so if it is, you already knew, if it's not, all the better.

Good suggestion... thank you!
So, would you be there too then on the 30th? or somewhere else later - and then not getting any update on the setlist in the meantime?
