If the music was identical, it wouldn't really make a difference aside from vocals. And all joking about JLB's vocals aside, I don't think a girl singer would fit a lot of the material very well, and I generally don't like female vocals in rock/metal unless it's more operatic vocals in symphonic metal type stuff.

Even though their songs are hardly DT, they were a Shrapnel shred band that weren't afraid to dress *for the guys* on stage.  I'm gonna say DT as a hot chick band would only be a bonus.

A "not hot" chick DT band would be equal to DT.

Johnette Napolitano and Ann Wilson sing circles around 85% of all men in rock/metal bands (and James Mankey can play circles around 75% of the guitar players).  Yeah, I get that some of Heart's stuff is a little light weight, but Ann sings her cods off on things like Wait For An Answer, and she brought tears to the eyes of none other than Robert Plant himself when she sang "Stairway To Heaven" at the Kennedy Center Honors.

Well, the music would still be the same. The voice wouldn't. And as a wannabe singer, I don't focus on the guitar player or the drummer but the vocalist. If there's a woman who can convincingly sing both The Silent Man and The Glass Prison, then my answer would be yes.
