Personally, I'd love to hear Labrie do some multi-layered track harmonizing. Can't remember him doing much of that.

Does the screams in the chorus of Build me Up Break me Down counts as what youre talking about?

Cyclopssss

No, not really. More like really layered overdubbed choral stuff.

Well, then live guests then.

Was an update on the tracklist last wednesday? Or we should wait until tomorrow or friday?

Yep! And Until December characters and more map  :(

Train of Naught

Bold prediction, tomorrow will be the last tracklist update, making the second act complete with 8-9 tracks, although chances are this will be another 20 track disc.

mmm, maybe 10+ tracks on the ACT II as well. I don't think of 20 but maybe 14-15 tracks

Check out the Frameshift album he did.

I think The Count of Tuscany's chorus counts as that?

Anyway, which tracks do you guys consider to be single canditates, or rather, which tracks do you WANT to have as singles? I want at least The Gift of Music because I really like the name.

Lord Nafaryus, obviously. I know there's a fair chance of it being an instrumental, but in case it's a full-blown song, I want it to be the first single.
Quote from: Train of Naught on May 28, 2020, 10:57:25 PMThis first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

Oh yeah, definitely! I hope it's either badass heavy or at least has like a... imperial march feeling, if you know what I mean.

noxon

Singles are usually the most accessible tracks, so I kind of doubt that they'll release a track like lord nafaryus as the single.

r3d86

How about:

The Gift Of Music or The Answer for single?

lucasembarbosa

I really don't see logic in predicting which songs are single type, instrumentals, epics, interludes or so just by their titles...

Sometimes I just forget I'm in DTF, so...

I think you mean like Savatage with Chance, The Wake of Magellan, One Child and the likes, right?

Kotowboy

Guys guys GUYS.

" A Life Left Behind " is *clearly* the first single. Based on absolutely NOTHING.

NOTHING I SAY.

I think it's something more like "As A Man Thinks" of JLB's MullMuzzler Keep It To Yourself...

Same goes for almost all of this thread. People have been extrapolating entirely plot lines and what happens in each song from the titles and the very limited setting information that we have.

^ ::) Pfft. As soon as they said they were entering the studio in January / February I was like " ok. Double Concept album with at least 23 songs on it. NEXT " .

jsbru

That's cuz we bored.  And impatient.  DT, let's get a sample of one of the songs already!  ;D

Are most of the tracks just short songs?

noxon

I wouldn't be able to tell you that if I knew.

countoftuscany42

i can't tell if you actually have insider info, or just love trolling everyone  :lol

Panar

The whole concept it might be a movie actually. This is what I think.

You can ask anyone who know me around here about my credentials and whether it's likely that I have insider info.

SystematicThought

Noxon is legit.

I remember you having all kinds of tidbits about the last album and then you were at the listening party and you helped build up anticipation. That was fun. Looks like your doing the same for this album.

So did you get to listen to a couple songs? snippets? full album?

Progressive Metal Fusion

If noxon is able to listen to The Astonishing, this implies that they are already done with mixing and mastering, or I'm missing something?

Kotowboy

I would hope so since they started mixing October 13 ??

I know the album is extra long this time but one month should be plenty.

fadetoblackdude7

I have a feeling that 'when your time has come' will be the first single.

bosk1

I can vouch for Noxon's credentials.  Pretty sure he has not heard any of the new album.  But he is privy to much of the same info I am privy to, and he knows what he is talking about.

Speaking of which, keep an eye on your emails and Twitter, folks.  Apparently, Arhys is not pleased.  :)
