Weird that Act 2 doesn't start with a NOMACS icon track... Nor does Act 1 end with one. There goes my theory of them being bookends..

noxon

Also, Entr'acte pretty much means "intermission"... Weird to start Act 2 with an intermission...

"Entr'acte (or entracte [ɑ̃tʁakt]),[1] means "between the acts" (German: Zwischenspiel and Zwischenakt, Italian: Intermezzo, Spanish: Intermedio). It can mean a pause between two parts of a stage production, synonymous to an intermission (this is nowadays the more common meaning in French), but it more often (in English) indicates a piece of music performed between acts of a theatrical production. In the case of stage musicals, the entr'acte serves as the overture of act 2 (and sometimes acts 3 and 4, as in Carmen). In films that were meant to be shown with an intermission, there was frequently a specially recorded entr'acte on the soundtrack between the first and second half of the film, although this practice has died out in recent years."

Well, we're DEFINITIVELY way into Rock Opera territory here now.

Did the NOMACS image get updated? I don't remember there being a "Red Dot" in the reflection above it's "eyes"

Definitely updated as well.

Just as weird as ending Act 1 with it. It's got to go somewhere, and that's surely the best place for it. The proper 'action' of Act 2 begins with Moment of Betrayal.

On another thought, we are gonna have a hell of a lot of songs to add to DT the League for 2017, aren't we?

Evermind

I've got to say I really like both The Road to Revolution and Moment of Betrayal titles.
Quote from: Train of Naught on May 28, 2020, 10:57:25 PMThis first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

I'm 100% sure the 3rd eye has always been there. This image is from the newsletter subscription page, from last month.

Yep, nothing new on the NOMAC.

onnet5

The red dot was there before - I've been checking it because the 2 lit ones act as click-able links, but don't actually do anything yet and I'm intrigued as to why they change the cursor.

Lucien

Holy shit...

This is going to be 160 minutes of unadulterated concept album, isn't it

Bertielee

Ooops, I hadn't noticed it before! I'm getting old... :P

Some of the titles sound like film score cues to me, particularly "A Tempting Offer". I can imagine orchestral/instrumental music being written for that one.

I'm loving the title "The Road to Revolution". Sounds like the Ravenskill rebels making plans/negotiations, and then the Revolution must take place. It cannot be stopped.

I imagine it probably effectively represents an Act II overture of sorts.

Also, 20 tracks on Act I, good lord.

DT survivors and so on are going to get interesting in future.

BlackInk

Well, we know that it will be less than 2 hours and 40 minutes, which is about two full discs. So there could be more than two CD's, but that wouldn't be the sake of limited disc space.

Pax

A bit disappointed it wasn't just only "The Astonishing" in the act II lol

Now I'm almost certain for some reason that we won't have a single "classic DT" song, those are probably all going to be some short songs connected to eachother that will be meh if listened as individual songs

RaasMah

It seems like they put massive amount of detail on the story, and thats great. However, unlike a book or a movie, the plot is really not he most important thing here. Music is about replay value for me, and the story isnt really the matter in it. So I hope they remember that music is above all here, even if they created the most epic storyline music industry saw.

I'd put money on Act II having a title track in it

Destiny Of Chaos

Really excited for this. Everything seems so huge. I'm astonished.

There must be the third and last act
This one will last forever
Dream Theater watches and thoughtfully smiles
They're making Metropolis 3

I like that despite what has been revealed so far, we still have no real clue of what this album will be like  :lol

mikeyd23

Wow, that's a lot of tracks! I'm growing more and more interested in this concept!

Vandalism

#935
Lots of 'A' and 'The' with subjects and predicates in proper order! It feels more like some unimaginative novel chapters than song titles. (Brother, Can you hear me? and WYTHC are exceptions but still they are not doing much)

Makes me a bit apprehensive about expecting good lyrics here. But hey unimaginative titles have been around with DT forever! (notable exceptions are 8vm, Sacrified Sons, HTF and most parts for I&W and FII).

Maybe I am just splitting hairs here but like always for me its all on the music now!

EDIT : I realized I am indeed splitting hairs here! I am so pumped for this. It is really frustrating that the album is still 2 months away and all we can do is stare at the titles. I think JLB and JMX will be having way more lyrical duties than before in this one. So we ll be covered on the lyrics part. And Act 2 titles are pretty good.

Lucien

I am beginning to imagine these European concerts are just The Astonishing without any older material.

Is it possible they add some more dates, because I reeealy want to go but I won't be able to if they don't come to Bulgaria.

Wow, that's a lot of new acronyms for us to remember!

fadetoblackdude7

Hoping Act II doesn't have as many as I. That way there can be short songs on I and some lengthier ones on II.

That'll surely be a nightmare... to remember XD

Also imagine the confusion when people will use the TA acronym. Will they be talking about the song The Answer or the album The Astonishing? And then it gets even more confusing if there's a song called The Astonishing   :eek

Or one song might be divided up over three tracks.

I think they're still adding them. I'm praying for a Finland date  :mehlin
