That's actually not the official logo. PM BlobVanDam. He has the font with the correct logo.

It would be interesting if you turned the O in the Majesty symbol into the moon.  It could either be a blue moon to complement the stars or a yellow-reddish moon to compliment the horizon.

Or it could be an eclipse and the sun haloing around the moon could become the O.

Actually that would go pretty well with the slideshow effect of the Dream Theater covers as the Majesty symbol orbits the planet as it slowly rises until the planet disappears, to be replaced by the moon eclipsing the sun.

Then the album can be a concept album of Greek mythology with Apollo and Artemis as the main characters.

Then the album after next would be the sun(star) collapsing into a black hole.  That will be the return of Mike "The Blackhole" Portnoy album as he once again consumes everything around him.

A few days ago I made up an album cover and tracklist based in the wonderful work of Elena Shumilova; it's not very DTish, but a change in the artwork wouldn't be that bad, isn't it?  :P

The album is called 'Grower', and it's dark, heavy and adventurous. Produced by JP, JR and JLB, and mixed/mastered by Jens Bogren, the album gives Jordan a lot of space, including songs ala Easter Egg ('Seed') or with a latin/jazzy mood (the middle section of the epic 'Eternal Bloom'), and even a few sections more electro-oriented ('Chrysalis Eterna'). It also features heavy-riffing and groove driven songs ('Shadow: Within'), and with a djentish flavour, but not quite ('Deterritorialization'). Petrucci will also showcase a sensibility for acoustic guitar ballads in the vein of Opeth ('Shadow: Without'). I like to see it as a mix of SFAM's musicality, SDOIT's experimentation, ToT's heaviness and ADTOE's instrumental sections; a man can dream  :lol

You can read a more detailed description of the songs (including lyric content) and the album itself in this article I wrote: https://theshamansblog.com/2015/01/27/mi-concepto-del-dt13-grower/ (sorry for the spam!)

And here's the cover art:

Dream Theater - Grower (Roadrunner Records, 2015)
1. Seed
2. Daydream
3. Deterritorialization
4. Chrysalis Eterna
5. Shadow: Within
6. Shadow: Without
7. Eternal Bloom
i. Firestorm
ii. Riverrun
iii. The Garden
iv. Seed (Reprise)

I've wished for quite some time that DT stops using Hugh Syme's digital stuff and turn to real photography instead. That's probably one of the reasons I like Train of Thought's art so much, it feels much more mature than, say, Systematic Chaos.

What the fuck

It's based on the artwork for Opeth's Pale Communion, which is basically three paintings. Not that it makes that any less weird, but that's the reason.

My original plan was to cut out the Majesty logo composed of stars from the 'Along for the Ride' page in the DT12 liner notes, but the contrast of the colors was too jarring.

It is actually a concept album about the past repeating itself in slightly different ways. This is reflected in the album title, Regressing Into Eternity. This notion is further reinforced by the track names and lengths. Hopefully someone notices this time...

Dream "Teather"?

EPIC fail.
I didnt even notice that. I guess I should have looked a little harder for a band name font with transparency.

My take... (first post here, so I probably do SOMETHING wrong).

Title inspired by Lawrence Krauss' book A Universe From Nothing, as I've noted popular science books tends to pop up in DT lyrics...
